Does anyone know of or have a youtube channel about taking care of long hair and styling it? I have found long hair channels but mostly just people showing off their hair.

There are a few up there, you just have to type in really what you are looking for. If you want tips on oiling, type in oiling hair or similar topics. Most youtube videos will be long hair flipping around, but there are some that talk about how they care for their hair. Mine is a mix at the moment, but soon I would like to have more tips than tosses. :)

I chose the name Daughter of Sif based on Thor's wife Sif from Norse mythology, not our Sif here on the forum. :)

There are several channels with hair styles and care tips for long hair.

Loepsie: http://www.youtube.com/user/loepsie?blend=1&ob=4
Torrinpage: http://www.youtube.com/user/torrinpaige?blend=1&ob=4
Daughterofsif: http://www.youtube.com/user/DaughterOfSif
CinnamonHair: http://www.youtube.com/user/CinnamonHair

Just use the search function and suggested/related vids from these for find more. :-)

ETA: You will likely find better results searching for a specific style (e.g. "four-strand braid") then "long hair styles."

I have a few tutorials posted on my youtube page (http://www.youtube.com/user/CinnamonHair#p/u) and here is a thread (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=8235) that links lots of instructional videos.

ETA: Oops I see verene already linked to me. Thanks!

I only have one video up right now. Hmm... Perhaps I should do more. But, in any case, I use the same name there that I do here if you are interested.

I've subscribed to a few of them, and I always look at the "related videos" to see what kinds of foods have the same keywords as hairstyles!

I've surfed from hair tutorials to pork buns and braided bread so far.

I have a few, as well, but nothing as ambitious as Torrin's: http://www.youtube.com/user/IsabelleNaturelle

I made a few more vids this summer but haven't been able to upload them yet due to technical difficulties (software problems and lack of time to resolve them).

Searching for "apostolistic hair" comes up with good results too for long hair.

I highly recommend Torrinpaige's as well, she has tons of videos and she is hilarious. My kids love watching her as well (even my little guy!) As soon as they hear a video start they all run straight for the computer and jump on me, they recognize her voice by now lol.

Great job Torrin!!

Little bit off topic, but I just saw a hair tutorial on youtube where she backcombed a layer of hair at the root, then used a flat iron OVER the teased hair so it didn't look "frizzy". Then continued to do the same thing on another layer... Ee gats!

I remembered Isa-belle's page too, but forgot to post it here.
Here are some more: aeli92 (http://www.youtube.com/user/aeli92) and binosusume (http://www.youtube.com/user/binosusume) (she's not a member, but I love her videos!). There must be others that I haven't bookmarked...

I love torrinpaige too, but mainly because she not only has good hair care tips and stylings, she even gives some shorter haired girls advice for adapting hairstyles, which is something everyone has to do when learning off a video no matter how well instruction-ed.

Yet another torrinpaige fan popping in and recommending her channel! :o After a few months at the LHC, I finally found her channel and managed to finally learn to do the french braid, as well as many of the other braids she has videos of!

I also would like to second the suggestions for Hypnotica's channel...she's pretty much the only reason I know how to do the few buns I can do now.

Tossing in another vote for TorrinPaige. Her channel has tips like how to brush and wash long hair, and a wide variety of styles, some of which can work at any length in your growth progress. Very nice mine of info. :)

the good thing about YouTube video's or just learning to do your own hair in general, is that you can adapt a hairstyle to work with what you're willing to do. I know I've done it a few times (adapting not the damaging stuff) I think that when you learn to do your hair your own way it looks a lot better. and doesn't get damaged in the process. Just remember just because the instructor does it doesn't mean you have to.
