Way back in 1998 I was lamenting that my hair was aging and had no shine. I went to a salon to have a deep moisture treatment and they said that my hair looked healthy to them (most likely compared to a lot of what they had coming in) and that moisturization wouldn't give the shine I wanted. They did a glossing treatment of some sort and my hair WAS super shiny and silky for a few weeks. My wallet was also a lot lighter for the experience, though as salon experiences go, it wasn't bad at all.
Fast forward to the cusp of 2010 and my hair is not only far longer than it was then, but it has the shine and silkiness that I wanted so badly back then. This time its not due to expensive and temporary glossing treatments, but instead to giving up shampoo, learning how to make my own SMTs, and regular oiling. Add in a few strokes of a BBB and you need shades man! How cool is that? :cheese: I've achieved my old 1998 goal in spades, and at very minimal cost (and in spite of significant thyroid issues to boot). I can't wait to see where I'll be in ten more years!
