I'm planning to get married in probably the upcoming spring. The ceremony itself will be on an airship, so I know I want to include goggles in my outfit (on my head), and I'm currently not sure about whether or not I want to wear a veil, or some kind of ribbons or other dangly stuff in the back. I'm pretty sure I want to do some kind of half-up, to show off my length but also have something dressy, like accent braids or an updo, but this has to play nicely with whatever I'm wearing on my head. My hair is currently TBish and about 1c. I probably will want to avoid rag curls, because they tend to leave my hair a tangly mess, and that's something I won't want to deal with on top of all the other wedding stress, but some manner of brushable braidwaves could be fun.

This is the most recent picture of my hair, with braidwaves in it:

So! Tell me about your wedding half-up ideas! Tell me what you wore on your head at your wedding! Throw any and all ideas you have my way, I'm at a loss! Thanks!

Your hair is absolutely beautiful. I like your idea of braid waves and half-up. . . How about a flexi-8 and leave the "tail" down? Or you could bun your half up and use a pretty stick to secure a bun - I'm imagining with your length you could use a very small section for 1/2 up and have a HUGE bun.

For my wedding I had bsl hair and did a half up with simple clips. No veil - just a very simple ceremony.

Then only thing I wondered - you mentioned goggles and an airship - I'm not sure what an air ship is, but do the goggles imply wind? Will you need to secure some of your length at some point?

I'm looking forward to hearing what you decide!

Congratulations on your wedding!

Thanks for the ideas! I do have some delightful sticks that I could use. I've never tried a flexi-8, are they something a drugstore is likely to have, or would I need to order it online?

The goggles are more of a stylistic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steampunk) choice. The airship (http://www.airshipventures.com) does have openable windows, but wind won't be a major concern.

braids and twists would be beautiful and you can twist and wind them around whatever hair accessories you add in :)

Whatever you do to your hair, it is going to look awesome! Your hair is gorgeous!

I was married recently, and wanted to have a pretty half-up. In the end, I ended up with a peacock twist because my dress had some back detail that really called for my hair to be up.
My avatar is my wedding hair.

An airship! That is so, so cool!
