I'm about to wash my hair and I wanted to get some advie and imput. My hair likes CWC. I'm wanting to cut down on my expenses.
Will holding the length of my hair away, while I shampoo and rinse my scalp work just as good as a CWC. From my belief CWCing protects the length from shampoo. Is this right?
Also I added jojoba oil to my conditioner...does this help to add more mosture to the hair or make anydiffernence at all? I got this idea from reading the jojoba oil bottle...it says it will make your hair healthier. TIA

The conditioner in a CWC also makes the length more supple, adds "slip", and gently cleanses. If the length doesn't need to be cleansed, you don't need to do the conditioner part of the CWC. You can add a tiny bit of jojoba to the length for helping with retaining moisture and adding a little slip.
I recommend that you dilute your shampoo if you're looking for cost-cutting tips. It will also provide gentler washing. I would do that before skipping the conditioner. Also, cheap conditioners work just fine for CWC (I use VO5 or Suave Naturals).
I find oils more useful applied separately as a leave-in than added to my conditioner, but your results may vary.

Adding to avoid confusion: Yes, an important part of the first conditioner application in CWC is to protect the length from the shampoo. My comments above about skipping conditioner were in the context of a scalp wash. :)

The jojoba oil, applied before shampooing, can help the shampoo distribute evenly and cleanse deeply without drying.

How much jojoba oil do you use? Just a small amount or a good coating? I've been adding it to my conditioner but I may try this and compare the results. Also do you wet your hair first or add it dry?
