I've reached my goal length of waist!

I posted this in my blog, but on second thought I decided to share with you all...

I thought I'd finally have my DH take a hair length photo, since my last one was in May, and upon looking at the photo I was surprised to see I have evidently reached my goal length of waist! I looked at the photo, and had him take another, squatting down a bit, to ensure it wasn't just an illusion of camera angle or something, but the second photo still shows waist-length! How come when I look with 2 mirrors it looks shorter than waist?

Anyway, I found the LHC in January 2007 when I was looking up how to grow long hair for the sake of my hubby, who wanted to grow his own hair long, and I got hooked! My last haircut by a hairdresser was December 22, 2006, and so that day in January 2007 when I decided to grow my own hair, I started on doing lots of tips I found on LHC: self-trims every 3 months using Feye's method, CO and CWC washing, cone-free shampoo and conditioners, aloe and oils as a leave-in, air-drying and gentle handling, up-dos...lots of changes in my typical hair-care routine. And I'm happy with the results!! :cheese:

So my first LHC photo, March 2007:

As you may see on the first photo, I also had layers, and I was also in the process of growing out color-treated hair. My natural color has a lot of gray in it, but I had decided in 2006 I was tired of using hair color and it was time to embrace my natural silvery-blonde. I've gotten rid of most of the layers in these almost 3 years, and have trimmed away a good bit of the color-treated hair. My next hair goal is a thick hemline at waist with 100% virgin hair.

Mark did grow his hair for 2 years, and he has such lovely 3a/b curls! Then he wanted dreadlocks, so I put them in, and he kept those for about 8 months. Then he got tired of maintaining those dreads, so we cut them off, and now he keeps a 1/8"-1/4" buzz cut! A photo of his curls, and his dreads:

Hi, my hair is very similar now to yours was in the first pic you posted, in lenth, colour, including growing out of dye and everything. I would be thrilled if i could grow hair like yours is now. My hair is probably coarser than yours, I think that is the main difference.

I really should get my profile details added....will get round to it sometime as would like to participate and learn more about growing healthy hair. Seems there's more to it than i had thought all my 47 years!

Yes, I climb 2 days a week at the local climbing gym and once a week outside. My husband and I often take road trips to climb, too. We've been climbing for just over 4 years now.
