It is a box full of oldish hair things. Quite a nice looking box I might add

I see a white snood, some bottle things, curlers/hair clip things, hair pins, among other things that I am unsure of at the moment

Yeah I few things I'm not sure of I see hair pins, curlers and snood for sure. Shurgs at some of the other stuff.
Its from History house in Fort Hancock.
Here a few linked picures from the night. B/c I think they are too big

I think the little red box is mascara... Dampen the little brush and rub it along the black stuff and then run it through your eyelashes. I remember these from my highschool days.

And I think that "super perfection curler" is how they made that curled at the back do we've wondered about. Just a guess there. Reminds me of some of the things we can get now, only now they're for what looks almost like a sock bun but isn't.

Here's a thread with a picture of Donna Reed in Wonderful Life - wearing what looks to be that hairstyle from the supercurler thingy.

Thanks for sharing all of these photos!
I love ANYTHING from the thirties and forties, especially "girlie" things and decorative items for ones' house!

Is that you in the green print dress?

Your boyfriend is hot! And you're so petite. Without those shoes you'd be such a tiny thing.

embee, I think she's wearing a roll rat/form. They sell them at the Vermont Country Store, along with a bun form. Each were popular in the forties, but as far as I recall, the roll form died out. The bun one lived into themid-to late sixties. I wore one! lol

I remember the little red mascara box. I never could get it to go on well. I remember my mom having the metal curlers. I used some on my doll's hair. I might even have a few of them in with my old doll stuff.

How cool!! My grandmother used to have alligator clips like the silver ones in the second photo. I wonder what happened to those when she died? I should have thought to save them for momento's sake. :(

Enfys, it's a place called History House. Its located on Fort Hancock (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Hancock,_New_Jersey), in New Jersey. Its like a an mitlary housing house they keep in time period to teach and show how life was.
