I had an idea just now. I wish the hair styling section of the articles could be searched by length.

I was looking for a hairstyle for my BSL hair for Xmas, many of the styles are for super-long hair though.

I agree, if this is possible, this would be a great idea.

One complication would be the thickness question: someone with i hair can do about a million more updos than I can at the same length.

Let's see, there's the french twist (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpKp-7MJB7Q&feature=PlayList&p=2D6B072AFB1EE046&index=8), Elainehali's topsy-rope braid 'do, (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=15923&highlight=peacock) gibson tuck, figure 8 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YPcVPUt_fo&feature=PlayList&p=DA04BAB0B7E5B921&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=14) or infinity bun (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8klAkhGUWL0) depending on thickness, tucked french braids, this chopstick twisty bun (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=240xT55RZPo). You can use lace braids (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcZ3xgxMfpA&feature=PlayList&p=C9C08D5CA2084DD7&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=30) (braiding starts at 2 mins in) to make casual updos look more formal.

Oh and I found those videos with the mute on, so if someone has an annoying voice I didn't know. ;)

I'd like to be able to search the articles full-stop ;)

What sort of style are you looking for? Fancy, or just a bit fancier than everyday?

How good are you at buns? Braids?

I was at BSL not long ago, and now I've got layers from APL to waist, so I might be able to help you out :)

That lace braid is just a french braid running side to side instead of from front to back on the head. Its not hard to do at all, especially with shorter hair since your ends won't tangle while you braid at the top.

Lace braids aren't the same as French braids. In a French braid, you take more hair in for every cross-over, whereas with a lace braid you only take in hair on one side.

Correct. I was going to say this.

I think she means it is the same concept as a french braid, or that if you can do a french braid, than you can definitely can do that lace braid.

Ah, all right. I thought she meant they were the same.

I do disagree with the idea that if you can do a French braid you can do a lace braid, though. I can French braid well enough to practically do it in my sleep, but my lace braids always turn out wonky.
