I will be the first to admit that for a longhair, I am absolutely miserable at putting my hair up. I've never been much of an updo person - whether because of my wash-and-go personality or the fact that I have a roundish face so I find that I look a bit too severe with my hair swept back.
But anyways, I do have to put my hair back or up for work, they're not too picky about how; I think even a headband is acceptable. What I normally do is a little twisty cascade thing with a claw that I sort of figured out in middle school. Problem is that it's winter and the big hair claw I use for this style doesn't exactly fit under my winter hat! So I wear my hair down on the way to work and put it up once I get there...but I'm starting to become aware of the need to keep my ends from getting snarled up in the wind/rubbing against my jacket.
So is there some kind of quickie protective updo for BSL hair that doesn't require a ton of skill and might fit under a tuque? I don't mind if I take it down and redo it when I get to work if it's not too complicated. I just really know zip about how to style hair beyond a basic ponytail and braid and I don't have a ton of hair toys just yet (metal-free elastics, big hair claw, barrette, pins and those little snappy clips).
