I think the old ones did not have hooks. I bought some of the hooky kind and I have no clue how to use them.

Nope. The ones that are talked about here don't have the hooks and I don't think they're still made either.

Oh yeah, now I remember. Thanks. I was up very late last night and saw LilyMunsters post on swap....was going to see how much she wanted, but didn't follow through. My loss. They sure did get snatched up quick.

Those look like Conair Ponytailers - I have six of them, and they work great for ponytails - less rubbing/pulling than a regular elastic. (Only thing is, I wear ponytails maybe .05% of the time.)
