Last night I realized I'm really due for a WO wash. So I figured I would do it in the morning, and I slathered a bunch of coconut in my hair to leave in overnight.

Well this morning it is so cold out, I couldn't bear the thought of walking around all day with a wet bun. So I just did Heidi braids with my terribly disgusting, greasy hair and they turned out better than any I have done before! Who knew.

Yeah, when I was in drama club in high school (MANY years ago, now! LOL!), our hair guru always emphasized that we were NOT to wash our hair for a couple of days before a performance. Fresh and clean hair is too soft and silky to style well.

That looks great! How is it that I'm STILL not able to do this?? It was freezing here today, too, and I ventured out with a wet bun. I think your idea was better!

Love it. My hair braids better dirty & oily too, keeps the wurlies and frizz at bay. Super cute.

Looks great! My attempts at Heidi braids always have hair sticking out in funny ways and skinny little braids that keep sliding off my head. (Can't wait til I can get one braid to wrap all the way around! I think that's my next goal.) Yours' look way better!

Very nice! I often wear my hair in some sort of braided style when it's been several days since wash, or oiled. Sure stays in place better.

It's so cute, and look so neat and tidy! I'd love to be able to do that for work.

haha, my fresh and clean hair is never silky, just a big coarse mess, DD2 and DD3 are the best for me.

ETA: I got distracted by the comment and didn't reply to the OP

But yes, Coconut Oil does wonders for braid styling :3 Thanks for sharing the pics with us :D

Hey, I'm wearing that style right now. Double wrap around the head.
Even slept in it last night as I wore it yesterday too.

Wow, those are great! :crush: It's awesome when you can totally turn a potentially bad hair day around. :D

Yeah, so much easier to style then the silky, slippery stuff when it's freshly washed. Your hair looks great!
