Haha, I love it! I've always wanted to get photoshop. It just looks like so much fun.
You can actually do that sort of thing with the GIMP, if you don't feel like buying PS. I can't claim that it's as intuitive as Photoshop, because it's not, but if you look at an animated gif with GIMP, you can see how to do it, specify the duration of the frames, etc.

LOL I'm a shortie growing out too. I started getting to the mullety-stage and decided to cut that back of my hair. I think I will just keep the nape short until the layers all catch up.
