Hey ladies (and gents!), okay so this is the first time I have had my hair this long in oh,about 6 years! I am at that length where I feel like I am going to start incurring mechanical damage. (i.e. my daughter pulling on it!)

What do I with it? I try to not wash for a few days. Okay actually I'm just too lazy to wash everyday.:o I am lucky enough where I don't get splits but I feel like my ends are not in tip top shapes! Should I wear it in braids with oil? Are there any hairstyles or things I should avoid right now? Should I suck it up and get a trim?

Don't trim! That just prolongs the awkward phase.

It's winter - by the time spring comes, you'll not be so untidy and will have gained some length. Blame the weather and the dark nights for everything, not the hair.

Good tips ladies! I do have some pretty scarves I could wear.

You're right trimming does prolong the awkward phase. Plus,I feel like by the spring I will have enough length to do some of the beautiful styles I have seen around here.
