Hi all,

Reading the forums and i am a little overwhelmed by the information provided.

Anyone got any basics on the products i should be using ie. shampoo and conditioner. I have loads of variations at home but not sure about this cones malarchy.

Any help or guidance to a missed post would be much appreciated.

Sarah

Welcome alamaya! :)
Being a newbie myself, this thread (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=39) helped me a lot at the beginning. I hope that helps!
As for the cones, you should not worry yet about it if it works fine for you right now. After a month and a half integrating minor changes suggested here in my routine, I'm trying to quit using them, and right now, I'm having a pretty bad time, so that shouln't be your no. 1 priority at this point! Try CWC first.
Hope that helps! ;)

That IS a great article, isn't it? I think it sums it up perfectly.

Hi Sarah--I'm pretty new here, too, and I was similarly overwhelmed by the amount of information on here when I started. I found the "Articles" section to be pretty helpful, also, if you click in "The 'Mane' Forum" up at the top there is a thread called "Link to VITs (Very Important Threads)". I would start there for a while! :)

I guess it depends on the product you put into the water, and on your hair/scalp. I try to use mild products and I put oil or a conditioner on the length as a protection.

I rarely take baths, but I personally prefer to do a final rinse under the shower to get the conditioner out when I do. That way, if there's any soap in the water (which there probably is), it isn't being left on my hair.
