I know after the thread I made I decided not to cut. (Thanks again for everyone's advice. :D) But I changed my mind. I ended up taking off roughly thirteen inches over a period of maybe a week. And I intend(ed) to go shorter, but at the moment I'm enjoying this length.

I cut it myself using feye's selft trim methoed. :cheese:

I found this hairstyle I really like: http://bressler.org/photopost/data/31/redheads.jpg
But I have a sneaking suspicion it won't suit my face shape:

(sorry about the expression, I don't believe in fake camera smiles)
What do you think?

I think your hair is very pretty! And still very long. It's beautiful. :)

It looks beautiful no matter the length. You have to be happy with it and you did think about it for a long time.

I think that style would still look good with your face shape, but you might have to dry/flat iron a lot more to get it to look like that. They say shorter hair is much more work, and I tend to agree. Your hair looks good though!

You're a lovely girl. That cut would actually look very cute with your features. BUT as one PP said, it would require probably blow-drying and definitely flat ironing. It would never just "happen" like that. It's totally up to you, though. Experimenting can be a good thing. In the meantime, good job with the self-trim!

I strongly endorse anything Willow did with her hair ^_^

Your long hair was pretty, but this looks good on you as well. :) And what is most important is that you are happy!

Thanks for the replies!
WyrdWay, Willow has the most awesome hair, right? :p
Brat and GlennaGirl, I had wondered about the blowdry/flat ironing and just don't think I could put up with that. I'm a pretty low-mantinance kind of girl. I love the style, but maybe it just isn't for me. And besides, I want to keep my hair healthy. :cheese:

While Willow's got an adorable haircut, looking at your frontal photo you shared and seeing your hair in that photo, I can tell you that you hair will NOT look that way without lots of heat styling and product. It will go limp and wavy on you.
We've gotta work with the hair we've got. We can always dream though. :)
Your new haircut looks fabulous! :D

Your hair looks thick, shiny and beautiful. Enjoy this length--it is still very long! My hair is a similar texture (if only it was as thick and long). I'm having some hair envy now!
Looking at that shoulder-length hair style pic you posted, my hair would never do that without extreme heat and styling products. (I speak from past experience.)For me, it would be too damaging, and quite frankly, although my hair loses wave easily, it would never go that straight to look sleek and bouncy. So there's my :twocents:.

I agree with a previous poster - that hairstyle would require much flat ironing particularly since you have naturally wavy hair. I like it too but to be honest it would be a high maintenance hairstyle. What you have now is gorgeous and probably takes you no time at all to achieve it in the morning.
However, if you have only ever had very long hair all your life and really want to know what it is like to have shorter hair, maybe you should do it. I did the same and will never go back to short hair. It took cutting it to realise that.

I think you'd look lovely with any kind of hair! Then again, I know what the urge to cut feels like, as I gave into mine earlier this week. Mind you, mine wasn't as drastic as yours, but I'm definitely glad my hair's at a more manageable length, as I didn't really enjoy having to worry about sitting on the very ends. I'm glad to be back at tailbone now :)

Thanks for all the replies. I suppose I should have said, those waves are braid waves, my hair is actually pretty straight. But yeah, that style probably would be too high maitinence for me. :) I'm still thinking of cutting to a shorter length, though.

Your hair looks very pretty and thick! And I think the style would suit you. If you don't want ALL your hair that short, you could still have the bangs cut in, and keep the rest of your length. I think it would be very lovely with your face. :flower:
