Is there anything besides sulfates that will remove silicones?

Not that I know of. I have read that some clarify with baking soda but I don't know if baking soda is actually capable of removing silicone buildup, or not.

yes I would like to know this as well. I put shampoo in my hand then sprinkle on some baking soda rub together and apply. I dont know if this is right?

I usually mix 1tbsp of clarifying shampoo and 1 tbsp baking soda in a liter of warm water and use that. It works really well for heavy buildup, think it would be a bit harsh for regular use though. I haven't tried baking soda on its own yet though.

Yes, I don't think there is a wrong way to use BS (well, maybe making a paste and scrubbing with that ;)).

I just lather with my poo and sprinkle some BS into my hand, then continue to lather. It works itself into the rest of my soap lather and is not abrasive.

Definitely not a daily wash though, it's very stripping and drying. Follow up with a conditioner for sure :)
