So, I have heard so many good things about Biotin.
and, I just bought myslef some today.
I got the 1000mg 60 tablets
I was just wondering if this is enough for me to see results from it?

IDK if that's enough or a lot, but can you swallow pills without water? I presume that's the form it's in?

Could you swallow it without water? I couldn't. I've never heard of a supplement that you wouldn't take with water. You might see some results in nail health but probably not that soon. I thought 3 months minimum was the rule of thumb for seeing results. Some of us take 5mgs or 5,000 mcgs per day. You might see results with 1,000 mcgs. It depends on how much your body needs extra biotin. It's a very individual thing. I guess if it was me, I'd take the 1,000 mcgs for 3 months and see if I could see any results and if not, then up the dose.

do you mean mcg? I take 5000mcg, and 1000mg would be like... 1,000,000mcg :run:

I didn't notice any results when I was taking the pills that only contained 1000mcg but I am getting slightly faster growth with 5000mcgs.

I just started 1,000mcg this week as well. Thanks for this thread post. I'll be watching for what others say, in addition to the ones already posted.:)

Did you have acne break outs when you first introduced biotin to your body?

My face stayed the same, but I started having the random zit appear on my chest and back.

I'm going to be watching this thread for updates... I don't know if I should take biotin or not, I don't know if I need it.

i take 5 mg (5,000mcg) per day. i have been taking it for about 15 months.

for almost 15 years, i had not been able to grow my hair much past shoulder or armpit length, always short of BSL. and i lost a handful of hair every day!

i started taking biotin for the hair loss, not length. after about 3 months, my hair loss slowed significantly. and after about 9 months, everyone started commenting on how long my hair was getting.
my hair used to grow 1/2" or less per month; it began growing at least 3/4"-1" per month. it has grown 6 or 7" since April!

i give biotin all the credit for the change in my hair. about a month or 2 ago i started trying some other supplements/hair oils/etc, but i never would have gotten this far without biotin!

Did you have acne break outs when you first introduced biotin to your body? Some supplements can cause skin eruptions. It's likely that your body is going through a detoxification process. It's just getting the crud out. It should eventually go away if you are patient.

I'd say 1000mcg is good to start out with, you can always work up to more later if you want. Either way it should help. I am currently taking 3000mcg. Biotin seems to work for me so I am happy with it.

I take 3000mcg daily with my multi vitamin and flaxseed/fish oil supplement. I have noticed an improvement with my hair.
