I bought 2 hair sticks from JasonsWoodworking and they are so pretty!

I got this one:
http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=21205533

And this one:
http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=21205534

He was great to do business with and even refunded half of the already reasonable shipping. He really didn't need to do that, you can charge a couple of bucks for handling and packaging.

Anyway, I'm very happy. The Loero Preto one is a bit hard to get in and especially out of my hair, though. I think my hair may be too kinky for it. The tip is pretty, but it makes getting it out of my hair more difficult. Hopefully I'll get more adept at using it.

I've already commented in your album how lovely I think those look, mwedzi, and I've been browsing at Jason's Etsy store.

How gorgeous is this one (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=vl_other_2&listing_id=34745030)? :thud:

If it weren't far too big for me in both length and chunkiness, I'd have snapped it up immediately. Hmm ... wondering if he does customs ... :o

He just made this custom stick for me. http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=21692261 Inspired by catladyintown's custom stick. I wanted a "Snow White" color combo. :) Not exactly a fan of the Disney movie, but mostly because my little guy looks just like Disney's Snow White. :D

So I'm curious about these sticks.... are they easy to work with? Does anyone have any action shots they would like to share?

I have a couple of his sticks but no action shots I'm afraid. They have a lovely smooth finish and I like their chunkiness. Jason's great to work with (one was a special order shorter version of one of his listings).

I absolutely LOVE this one (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=41869709) - fabulous contrast of woods! but sadly I can't do the sort of wrapped/Chinese bun that would suit it best.

Wow, I never would have looked twice at those sticks (much to big for me), but they look amazing in your hair. Excellent choice. Your hair is lovely, by the way. You've got some great shine going on there.

I just bought this:
http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=28174045

I definitely hadn't planned to buy any more hairtoys for a while, but I couldn't resist this. I can't wait to try a more chunky type of hairstick...
I want more already, but I don't have the money to spend, even if some of those I want are on sale :p I'll have to be satisfied with one, for now...

I really like these sticks. I'm not going to be buying any more hair toys for a while, but I am favoriting this seller. I like thicker, more sturdy sticks, anyway, especially since I tend to break things.

Wow, that IS pretty! However, I do think it's a little bit of a bummer that the aqua piece that is so interesting would be hidden inside the wearer's bun. Like a private treasure though :) :hmm:

I think it would be perfect for Chinese wrapped buns. There is usually a bit in the middle that gets shown off with that hairstyle. Only thing is that I never do Chinese buns, so I guess it's good that someone else got it? But I'm still pouting! :(

Got my hair sticks today! They've been sat in the post office all weekend (bank holiday) as I wasn't in to accept delivery on Saturday so today I finally got to go and pick them up. They're so beautiful and well crafted.

As promised, The Santos Zebra custom:
http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t296/coolbeansmellon/IMG_0428.jpg

I love dark colors in my hair. The tickness of this piece works real well in my hair and the hold is incredible. When you turn the stick to slide it against the scalp, you can really feel it grab. :)

How do you feel them?, my hair is really fine

I will ask him I think he hasn't started to making it because he is sick and yes the stick I'm wearing is a hacksaw I really like them too they are truly beautiful.
I don't know much about hairsticks in fact the only one I have is the hacksaw and one plain from manyhorses, what would be a good thickness for a hairstick? I like them on the thicker side
but I don't know how much will be to thick.

If you are happy with the thickness of the hacksaw stick, you can measure that one and give him the numbers. I would measure around the widest part of the topper and widest part of the hair-wrap part, and the narrowest part of the hair-wrap part.

Too thick, that really depends on the person :) From the etsy description of the one you are getting, it looks like it will be on the thick side. It's 3/4" at widest, which I assume is at the topper, so it's not HUGE or anything ;)
