Hi all! :)
I have always wondered what heat protectant sprays are. I mean what do they do to protect the hair?
I never use any heat so maybe its a silly question coming from me, as i dont ever intend to use it. But i am so curious. :p

Anyone know about this?

Thats what im thinking, im so sceptic, my best friend use it and she cant even answer what it does, thats why im asking. It really just sounds like just another thing we are "supposed" to use just because.

I actually just posted a similiar question a few weeks ago and all a heat protector does is coat the hair and help the flat iron slide down the hair faster so that it will not stick to your hair and cause more damage than it already does. I assume it works the same with a curling iron however you have to hold the iron in the same spot to get a good curl so I guess it really doesn't do much in that scenario. Essentially I think it just forms a very thin barrier of cones to somewhat minimize the effects of the heat.

That doesnt sound like a produt worth its price, i hear they are very expensive if you want a "good" one.

Anyway, thank you for answering!:cheese:

I would strongly advise you to do a little research about silicones and phylantriol on hair as protectants. There are some ingredients that protect against certain degrees of heat, and you really shouldn't use heating tools without using heavier cones (dimethicone) and a protectant with phylantriol (this ingredeint is specifically for heat protection). I mean I wouldn't want you to damage your hair based off of what was said on LHC. Just google the above ingredients and try and research the effects with heat protection. This way you can be fully informed about what might be best for your hair. :)
