Both were really easy to do :cheese:

who else wants to dabble? :D
(pictures are good -don't be shy)

I do realize we have http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=14380 which is a hair game but i'm a little scared :o

I'm very known to get my fingers and arms into a twist

Practice makes perfect right? right ..........

I've been dabbling for the past few weeks, but I haven't taken any pictures yet. My hair is still a tad short for nearly all of them but I make do. I figure if I get a hang of the technique now, then when my hair is long enough, I won't need much practice to get it pretty :D

Rach, just wanted to say your hair is so pretty! Especially the color!

Wow, rach is your hair that purple-y or is it just funky lighting? Either way, I like it!

Yeah I'm a little wary of the hair challenges, because mine is so thin I just don't have the volume or thickness to pull off some styles - and my hair slips through a lot of hair stuff, like sticks, so I can't do those... I do need more ideas, especially quick and easy styles with good hold, since I have to keep my hair up at work now.

I keep meaning to, but my attention span is tragically short. Maybe i should...

Also, your hair color is gorgeous.

Oh, if only I had a few more inches! I'm afraid I'll have to wait a little longer to try most of the really cool styles.

Sigh.... Ah well.

lazy wrap bun (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=72)
and turned into

Cowrie shell bun (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=150) which isn't quite symmetrical.

pinkbunny sticks are great fun when you get the hangs of it and the lighting does go a bit weird on the camera when i've oiled my hair (weird) it isn't purple.
ones in this post haven't been oiled but do have a habit of overexposing the camera with the shine. shakari's done that to me recently which feels really silky.

Gotta be coordinated for the fishbone at the back of your head! I wouldn't be able to that with somebody's hair in front of me. I have always adored these complicated braids (well, that's complicated for me).

It looks really good!

Ooh, these are great! I will join in, but will have to get pictures pulled together.

I worked on this some in the summer when I first found LHC, and I took pics of things I tried on my own and dd's hair.

Since then, I put together my own little "hair manual" by pulling any how-tos into a Word doc, adjusting pic size etc to fit everything on the pages well, and printing. Now I keep it in a binder in my bathroom and look through to try new things (I kept trying things at the computer where the instructions were, and thought it might work better in there with my hair stuff LOL). Anyway, now I'll just bring the camera and get pics of new things I try.

I did a rope braid yesterday and it looked great for 10 minutes but started unraveling terribly and I had to re-do to something else...wondering if it is just my layers, or if I did something wrong?

Here are a few...

Hypno bun (from a video tutorial)

sock bun (on dd)...

...fishbone on dd

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/sharbyheart/July%202009/HPIM5383.jpg

...and I can't remember what this one was called but it's in the articles and it's where you roll each side of a ponytail up and bobby pin it in place to make a fuller bun...

Ha -- I guess I've taken more pics of dd than of myself. I'll try to practice some and get better at pics of my own back of head! :o

Nice pics!

Don't be scared of the Hair Game Thread! ... We only nibble very gently. ;)
The challengers take your hair stats into account and any special requests, as best they can.
It's interesting to see what someone else comes up with for your hair.

Having said that, it's good to have a thread showing styles pulled from the Articles section.
