View Full Version : Hard to find.....

Please help me if you can? The most difficult hairstyle photo for me to find is one that I can only describe as layered, sort of a shag, and very wavy or even curly reaching above or just to shoulder length. I prefer a wave that frames the eye a bit but am not that fussy if one has a photo with hair straight back from forehead or even with a slight bang. Can anyone post some pics for me so I can show my hairdresser what I want? Thank you so much. My hair is salt & pepper but I would be quite happy if someone posts a photo no matter what the hair color is. I have already checked out hundreds and hundreds of hair pics from 'net hairstyle sites. This particular cut I am looking for is kind of "windblown", and casual looking. Please help? The actress "Debra Winger" had this sort of cut in the movie "An Officer & a Gentleman" but it was just a bit too long for me. Does that give you an idea of what I want? Surely, some of you wear your hair this way?

Then, if you wear your hair this way and can post a photo for me, would you be kind enough to let me know how you "set" it? Also what products you use? Or do you simply "scrunch" it and do you use product for this? I so want to grow my presently fairly short hair, but I just have to have some "style" and now it looks awful (very in-between stage). Thanks again.

Sue.

That is hard to find...I don't know what to search for to get pics even though I know what I'm looking for. I can't find exactly what I want. Maybe you could take a pic of Deb in the movie and just tell them you want it a bit shorter?

I have no idea how to achieve it since I've never tried it, but I would think you'd want a light mousse or gel at the roots and to scrunch for lift.

Wowee - I got some responses! Sorry to say though, mellie, these two pics aren't quite what I have in mind. I want something much more layered and curly. (or wavy)

It's interesting that you should happen to find one of Sally Field because just last night I was watching a movie of hers "A Cooler Climate" and her hair was a lot like this and I like it. But it still isn't what I've got in mind. My sister looks very much like her. Amazing eh?

These ones are much closer to what I'm talking about hootietoot but still Debra Winger's is right on. You are probably right - I should get a copy of her pics in that movie. And then just say I want this shorter.

The middle one (black & white) is the best one I think. Just not sure if it would look good on me. As long as I can get it off my face, it might be.

Good luck with getting the cut you want and when it comes to setting it, if you have natural curls or waves something like aloe vera gel should do the trick.

kinda looks how i have my hair this morning. :)

I do rag curls each night if you dont have naturally curly or wavy hair.

mine is normally just flat out straight.

Do you mean the black and white one with the sweet girl with lots of curls wrapped around her neck like a warm scarf?

I think you can pull off any soft, layered cut like those. :)

And the black and white one is actually a shot of Debra Winger. :D So yes, I definitely think taking a pic of her with you is your best best, since that's really the look you seem to like best. It's lovely. I like it, too.
