ETA- I should have used a different smily  the title was supposed to be humourous, not serious :p)

Hey no need for apologies! You look beautiful with straightened hair! :flower:

The most important thing is to enjoy your hair! There's nothing wrong with experimenting with different styles so please don't feel guilty about it. Your hair looks pretty healthy from the photo so I doubt if the odd straightening will harm it too much.
Have fun! :)

Agreed. As long as you use a heat protecting spray and don't do it everyday, you should be good.

Thanks :D I've just been waiting all day to say that LOL. The iron was on sale for like half off and I couldn't resist, though I did look around for the hair police first  . And holy cow it was hard to find the heat protectant stuff!! Finally found it though and I loved loved loved my hair, went out and it rained LOL, of course as soon as it got wet it curled right back up again  but this will sure be fun occassionally :D

I blow-dried mine straight today - which I haven't done in over a year.

I wanted something different and cutting was off the menu. So blowdryer it was.

Keep it for special treats instead of a regular thing and you'll be fine. :)

(I mean, heck, Curlsgirl and Spidermom occasionally straighten their hair and both of them have gorgeous locks!)

Looks pretty and why not, I flat iron from time to time too (see sigi). Its great when your feeling down about your hair and you use protection like you dont want splits that breed. I use a John Frieda (Fryda ha ha!) and have no problems, enjoy hair thats the whole idea.

No please do not use this kind of protection, it would make your hair greasy!

Or sticky :hmm:. I dunno, latex can be pretty shiny. Mayby melting it onto the hair would be like cones only MORE :D

then comes the discussion on which shampoos contain turpentine. Then we'd have turp-free individuals and turp heads (or really that would be latex heads wouldn't it? )
