The style is called something different, but it looks like the same instructions that I read for the beehive.

Its nothing like the beehive that I know and which I wouldnt do if you paid me!!

The hairstyle in your link is an Edwardian style and very pretty(and kinder on your hair)!

No the beehive involved a lot of teasing and hair spray and you end up with a style that looks like this:

This style is a Gibson Pompadour is usually held with just pins, since I don't think there was hairspray back in the Edwardian era, but I could be wrong. The style ends up looking like this when done:

And, as you can easily tell, the Gibson is waaaay older than the beehive.

It looked similar to beehive instructions I read somewhere but I can't find the link now. It was the same principle of splitting the hair in half, and poofing it up on top. Then making a top bun, and wrapping the hair at the bottom up and around the top bun. I thought I might try it for fun, but without all the extra volume. I don't think I would like that. :)

Oh, thank you Little Orca! That is a better visual difference. It is strange how the instructions I read sounded so similar.

I have seen the teasing in the hair styling video's. I must not be the only one who couldn't imagine this on their own hair? shudder:It looks like tangle and breakage waiting to happen.
