It's My Four Year Anniversary Thread! (pic heavy)

I have never done an anniversary thread before in all of my years at LHC. I have been a lurker, since 04 but joined in 05 so even though I have been here for 5 years total it is only officially 4 years.

Many may not even know much about me because I tend to spend more time just listening as it were and only post when I feel that I have something to offer. I am the quiet type so it took until recently to get my 1000 posts.

I have grown to love LHC and all of the wonderful supportive folks here. I have stuck here through thick and thin.

When I started I had fine and low ii hair, but then it grew thicker through the wonderful tips and lessons that I learned along the way.

Then because of health issues I went through a major shed and learned many things to get my thickness back, and it is gaining! Yea!

So here are a few of the pics of my LHC journey.
I hope that you are encouraged by the differences.

When I started I had a horrible dye job so I cut back to chin length. This is one of my first posted pics. It was in 04 and this was after chopping the fried ends from dye off, but the color on top was still ugh! Ladies don't try to cover red with ash it made my hair green!

This was a photo shopped goal to spur me on. It taken was the year I joined, but after getting rid of the dye and photoshopped the length.

This is an early pic that my mom took. I don't have the date for this one, it was off of another computer and I don't know.

I would be now at knee length if I would ever learn to put down the scissors. :rolleyes: But I have learned. I now am back to tailbone and approaching classic again.

This is where I really started to shed due to health issues. Celiac disease is no fun... Makes getting all of your nutritional needs met.

This pic is probably at my thickest and I often look at it to encourage myself. Spring of 06.

A bone fork in bun! I love updos! When you loose hair and it is thin they help you to feel that you still can look nice.

Forgive me for saying this but which picture is your current length? The photos are kind of scattered and I was trying to guess, is it the green dress one?

And here is a pic from 10- 20-08 (last year), after I cut 16 inches which is right at a year ago. I had been at classic before I cut back last year. So you can see the difference a year has made. I think that it has grown well. I am sorry that I hadn't put the latest pics up, I was very tired and just thought that I had!

Yes my intolerance is under control now, it just means that I have to fix everything that I eat to make sure it is safe. And READ ALL LABELS!!!!! And learn the code names that they use to disguise gluten in products. :rolleyes: The thing that surprised me the most was how hard it was to find hair care products without it.... I am one of those "lucky" ones that react to it on my skin and hair.... :( I am also sensitive to parabens and preservatives so finding a natural product that also has no wheat, oats, rye or barley is hard.....:p The hair products were what caused the main part of my shedding.

Well I had an almost immediate reaction to some conditioner that I used at a friends house. It had wheat germ oil in it and everywhere it touched me I broke out in painful little blisters. My skin and scalp hurt for a month afterwards. I couldn't do anything to my hair other than leave it down or a very loose braid. It was bad.... So yeah I have great reasons to be very careful.

My mom went into what was essentially an anaphalactic reaction to barley malt vinegar and should have gone to the hospital, but didn't. Self medicated and dealt with it. My family has a history of bad reactions, my aunt carries an epi-pen everywhere due to being allergic to bees and ants... and other things. :rolleyes:
Some times the idea of a glass bubble sounds good, but I refuse to let it stop me. :D

Thanks ya'll I really appreciate the kind words of encouragement. I am happy with how it is doing, but sometimes I have to remind myself just how long it took the other hair to reach the length that it is, so it will just take some more time and it will all be back.

After the night I had at work, I really needed the encouragement! Sigh, but now sleep is real high on the priority list. :D
