I suspect that my classic length now is longer than the previous time, beacuse I gained some weight. It feels like it's taking forever this time to reach it.

It seems that I am spending more time between tbl and classic than I did between any other two body milestones. Which is a bummer because classic length is my dream length (I think long hair becomes fantasy long hair once it extends past the upper body). I think I just had a number of growth spirts in the beginning of my hair growth “journey” which has given me false expectations.

I called this stage the mid-butt abyss.

Haha, I like it.

I got a length pic, hair is frizzy from brushing: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54350132227_4c20c7af98_w.jpg

Hello folks.
Missed the calling TBL moment, but still a little while before classic, so here I am. :)
Might post a picture later this weekend.

I called TBL late last year, trimmed back to BCL in August-ish, and now I'm back to TBL! I'd say I'm past the "just TBL" point and am now in "solid TBL" territory. It feels like I've been having a growth spurt lately as well, though a growth spurt for my hair is the normal growth rate for most other people :hmm:

Whoohoo! :cheer:

Well, one shouldn't compare by others anyway. :p

Comparing is a bad habit sure, but I've made peace with the fact that I got hit with the slow-growth genes! The wait will make the victory sweeter, and I get to enjoy being my growth-journey that much longer :p

Does anyone else start to have trouble detangling and brushing their hair at this length? When I'm standing and my hair is in front of me it's fine, but brushing it behind and down my back is getting hard because I can't always reach the ends, and then it's really tricky to detangle while sitting down. It's like I have to have one hand holding the middle of my hair up while the other hand does the brushing. I can't brush through the whole length at once because it just hits my lap or I have to awkwardly brush it way out to the side like Ariel with a dinglehopper

I'm on the shorter end of TBL and have been noticing this change, so I'm just looking for input from the folks further into this bracket.

Yes, you're approaching the biggest hurdle you'll ever face growing and managing "long" hair - The Reach Barrier. Good luck getting through it :p

Detangling, I do the same thing you do, Kelp, since I'm mainly sitting when detangling. When I use the hairdryer I'm standing up and then I can still reach my ends with the brush, but it's becoming a motor challenge and the brush falls down a couple of times. One time I tried to pick it up with the dryer still running and my hair got stuck in the rotor on the back.

It's also getting challenging to braid.

Feels like I've hit a non-length milestone, then! Thanks, we'll see how I fare

Ouch shudder:

Did you get all of your hair out alright? I have a fear of that happening when I'm walking past the fan my boyfriend keeps on. My hair usually isn't down, but it's our bedroom so it's the one place my hair is down!

It's called FTL, that's the closest anyway. And it really is the HUGEST milestone to pass. Speaking personally of course, LOL, it really seperates the men from the boys :blueeek:

I've finally graduated to mid-thigh, it only took a pregnancy! I expect I'll trim it back as soon as the great postpartum shed starts.

I had to cut out some hair. Luckily, it was not too obvious. And I also had to replace the hairdryer. Since then I've been keeping a healthy distance from all fans. Although, it shouldn't happen with a safety grid.

Congrats on your progress! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, that the shed won't be too bad!

I'm challenging myself to quit length-checking for a while. No hard goal, just until I give in or decide my curiosity is justified. My hope is that I'll last a couple of months so I break my habit of checking every time my hair is down (I tend to just analyze it in the mirror or tug on the ends to feel where they land whenever I brush it or I'm in the shower). I'm excited to cross the halfway point between tailbone and classic, so hopefully I'll surprise myself with growth because I'm not constantly comparing it to how it was a few days ago

Decided to measure in because I think the last time I did was when I was in the Waist - TBL thread sometime last year. My hair is just past 39" and my goal of classic is 44" Five more inches! :cheer:

I have just been ignoring my hair mostly since Christmas, and realised that I am well past tailbone (despite a couple small self trims), and am actually nearing classic again! I can't believe it and I can't wait for it to be thigh length once again. This time to stay I hope!

I absolutely thought I made this post at least two weeks ago. It's only been seven days  I'm happy to report that not length-checking has been easy thus far, but the fact that it's only been a short while is putting into perspective how often I would do it. In any case, I feel like it's been healing my LHCitis!
