I did a trim. Took off about .5" and am so pleased at the difference it's made in my hair. It's been a few months since my last trim, but since I trimmed a bit off, it's so much easier to detangle my hair!
My hair's on track to hit about 40-41" by the end of the year. I'm hoping then, I'll see how my hemline is faring, and decide if I want to grow past classic, or if I want to thicken the ends.

I'm almost at classic unstretched! :o Stretched I'm there, but it's hard to stretch my strands while keeping my body in line, so the length is a bit skewed.

Here is a slightly misleading picture that makes me look like I'm a classic unstretched. I'm not tilted or anything, and it was taken the same day as the other pics, so not sure why there was a discrepancy.

Hi, this Saturday my husband measured my hair and it's 39 1/4" when dry and 39 1/2" when wet. Classic on me is 39". I tried posting a picture but this is only my 3rd or 4th post/reply to any of these threads, so I'm not able to :-/ how many posts until I'm able to? Also, can anyone direct me to a classic and beyond length or to mid thigh challenge link?

You can post pictures at any post count. You just need to upload it to an image hosting site like imgur (don't accidentally "share to the community" though) that will give you a link to the image. (use the actual image link, not any of the funny looking codes) Put at the beginning of the link and at the end of the link.

This is just washed but unbrushed hair. Sooo close to classic if I stretch it. Well, one or two bits are already there, I think :D I've had to do a lot of search and destroy recently but am reappearing on the forum in order to get my focus back on really looking after it well.

Correct me if I'm.wrong but I thought classic was half of your body height? So it may differ depending on anatomy. If you have a long torso half of your height may only be part way down your bum. Similarly, if you have long legs, you may have to grow down a bit onto your thighs to reach classic.

It's generally accepted around here that classic is the meeting place of the bottom and the back of the thigh, it's even in all the newbie/glossary threads that way. For most folks with average proportions, half the height would actually be nearer to true tailbone.
Capybara

Agreed, it is the general consensus, I just prefer the "half of your height" method of calling it because it is agnostic to weight fluctuations and differences in proportions.

Agreeing with Nique. :agree: The hair needs to cover your butt / bum cheeks. People can be of different heights and half of that height may fall on *very* different markers than classic!

Yes very close, how exciting!
You must be just a couple of months away depending on how fast you hair grows per month, do you how much it grows?
Sometimes I forget that the lingo we have here are not in everyone's vocabulary, so I had a fun moment a few days ago trying to explain well enough so my boyfriend understood what classic length hair means so he could check if mine had reach classic when wet and we had some problems at first as he assumed that your hair had to curve your butt to reach just bellow it for it to count as classic. :D And it has!
My plan is to take my monthly length photo some time this weekend so I can see how far off I am when dry.

Everyone's inch length would be different because everyone's body is different (my anatomical tailbone is at ~35 inches, which is just about as short as it can get without clinical dwarfism involved, where someone else's tailbone might be 45 inches) and not everyone measures by inches, some just do it visually. So, I'd say no and welcome. :blossom:

maborosi, the colors of your hair are just stunning with they way it's dark at the top but shining copper in the length, especially with the purple bedding behind.

My hair is still hovering around tailbone. It seems to still be flipping up quite a bit. I trimmed about 1/2 inch earlier this month. I can't seem to find my hair shears in the past two weeks, so until they turn up, I'll be waiting to trim again.

Thank you Entangled, lapushka, and Shiranshoku for the comments. :)
There's been a dry wind blowing and my hair has been so sleek and smooth (for my hair anyway)! I ironed my "horns", the top of my hairline, and the top layer in back on Wed after washing to tame the random kinkies. But I attribute the tamed hair more to the weather. When I took my sweater off on Thur, it was all staticky. Maybe I shouldn't be happy that my hair is dry, but it looks nice.

I'm back to waist, well, somewhere between waist & hip, but mostly waist. I can "just" (only "just") manage a LWB. My mom just took 12 cm off of my hair. Well, I eyeballed the amount to take off, she took it off, and then we measured.

Classic up to waist... are you sure that's only 12 centimeters (~5 inches) or 12 inches (~30 cm)? Either way, I hope it works out for you. I can't imagine doing a big chop all at once anymore.

Yeah... I think I measured the smallest piece that came out. By the time I wanted to measure, it was all jumbled up and in the garbage can, so I pulled a piece out. And oooh MG, we cut in two pieces... Woopsie. :o

Depends on your thickness and slipperiness and how many inches of hair you have now and/or at waist. I'm only a ii thickness (at about 3.25") but my hair is so slippery that I still couldn't do a lazy wrap bun until I had about 33" of hair from the front hairline, and then only because I have layers thinning the ends so that I can actually wrap them. Every different combination of thickness and slip will mean you need a different length for being able to do a particular style.

I can "just" do a LWB at waist. I am a little beyond waist, by half an inch. If it were any shorter, I would not be able to do that bun. And when I first started I almost had to wait to hip length, because I didn't have the "handyness" in handling it. But it depends on individual thickness, yes.
I had maintained classic for a year, and ever since my last trim, I kept having the urge for a shorter cut (APLish), and that's how I know it's not impulse, because classic is a comfy length for me. My mom talked me out of going that short (unlayered) and said to trim a shorter piece (layered). I did (well, technically my mom cut it). Thank goodness. My shortest layer is aaaalmost APL. So... I guess that counts! It's layered all the way to waist. I'm now just waiting on my hair to dry (it's washday here) to see how my waves behave! :)

I could do a LWB at APL and my hair is normal thickness.

I was able to do a LWB at APL through MBL. Since about MBL, my LWBs seem to explode. Luckily, I'm more of a fan of the Nautilus bun, and that's worked since MBL.

I cannot do any stick buns above waist. I can do a LWB only at that point, or a cinnabun with spin pins. My hair is not very thick, either. 2.75-3". But it is slick. The problem seems to be not enough tail to anchor it.
I cannot manage a nautilus until hip, if I recall.
I can do any bun now (TBL+) that I know how to do. My default is the L-infinity. It's the only one that I can do and forget about the rest of the day.
I am anxious to get back to FTL when I can begin my double-wrap buns. They REALLY stay. I can do a double-wrap LWB now but it will undo itself after a couple hours.

Your hair doesn't look that bad. Some oil or a moisture mask would probably do wonders if you have the time. Your hemline looks nice and thick. To me, your hair just looks a little dry, that's all.

Winter is the best time to experiment with oils, in my opinion! But I am biased, since I am obsessed with oil DTs. :p I like to put on a DT, warm wool hat, cozy robe and socks, get a cup of tea and a good book and settle in. So pampering!

Try the LOC method after it, or the ROO method in between. Sometimes I do both, but LOC alone works for me quite well. BTW, the links to both methods I mentioned are in my signature. :flower:

Hmm, I don't think it's dry. I had done overnight coconut oiling before the wash and it still had slight moisture from the wash in the photo as well. My hair is super damaged. But the natural texture is frizzy so that's probably what you see.
WaitingSoLong
December 9th, 2016, 06:23 PM
I will go opposite and say a good clarify does wonders for "dry" texture. Or frizzy/crunchy. It has taken me years to find my routine balance. I have to do major moisture in the winter. I use a modified SMT I called WMT (W for WSL) It's AVG, conditioner, a serum, and mayo. I change the ratios depending on my needs at the time.
I agree that HASK has amazing stuff (I get at Sally's). I use the strengthening mask (http://www.beautyofnewyork.com/upload/2013/hask-naturals-strengthening-masque-1.75oz.jpg) (but its hydrating, not really protein laden) in the purple and brown packet. I can get 4 uses easy out of one packet. This is a Holy Grail item SarahLabyrinth found and shared with me last year!
My hair hates oil. I can use serums, which have oil, but something is different about them. I can glop quite a bit of serum into my post-wash damp hair and massage it through and it never looks greasy but I don't go for curls so it could be weighty. I like weighty (weighty for straighty). I hate greasy. Currently I have some weird serum I picked up on clearance at Sally's but I'm almost out. Previously I have used Garnier stuff.
Aussie 3 Minute Miracle is a good milder moisture treatment. Leave in longer. Sometimes I put it in my WMT. Otherwise I use Suave or something someone has unloaded on me, or free hotel conditioners, etc. I'm a die-hard Pantene user so...
I clarify once a month or so. Whenever the ends feel crunchy or dry.
YMMV of course but the more ideas you have the more likely to find something. I NEVER clarified before I joined TLHC and I still remember that first time I did. I thought my hair was hopelessly damaged!
CLARIFY. Ok. 'Nuff said.
Anyway, Entangled I should hit Classic in April as well methinks.

Probably because those serums are usually cone heavy and have little oil. I like the heavy serums too although I refrained from using any cones for the hair typing. I probably would need to do a lot to get all the cones and polyethylene out of my hair, but I have been using Suave daily clarifying shampoo for a while. I haven't noticed a difference with different shampoos though. I am curious to try chelating shampoo. My hair actually feels really soft.

Could be, my hair loves cones. Here's the ingredients as copied from the web page (they're too small to read on my bottle)
CYCLOPENTASILOXANE ,DISILOXANE ,DIMETHICONOL ,ETHYLHEXYL DIMETHYL PABA ,FRAGRANCE ,ALCOHOL DENAT. ,CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE ,BENZOPHENONE-3 ,HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL ,AMODIMETHICONE ,ARGANIA SPINOSA KERNEL OIL ,CAMELLIA OLEIFERA SEED OIL ,LINUM USITATISSIMUM (LINSEED) SEED OIL ,TOCOPHEROL ,CALOPHYLLUM TACAMAHACA SEED OIL ,CAPSICUM ANNUUM EXTRACT ,AMYL CINNAMAL ,BENZYL BENZOATE ,BENZYL SALICYLATE ,COUMARIN ,HEXYL CINNAMAL ,HYDROXYCITRONELLOL ,LIMONENE ,LINALOOL

Thanks. The thing is, it just looks course--the underlayer of my hair is quite course, but the stuff on top is definitely medium. It looks courser and dryer than it actually is.
Thanks everybody for the compliments. I realize it looks like I was fishing for them--I won't say stuff again. I just look at my hair in photos and I'm always frustrated at the way it looks--the frizz and lack of shine. But I can't change that; those things seem mostly related to the shape of my hairs. I'll try out some moisture things. I'm re-introducing coconut oil to my routine: it's always made my hair feel softer when I use it for a pre-wash, though I know it's not moisturizing. I've never noticed a major difference after a deep treatment, but I've only tried SMTs before. Maybe I need to branch out. I guess this new year's resolution will have to be being kinder to myself.

I agree 100% with WaitingSoLong - I can see that your hair changes texture around ear length, so to me that says "build up". I use the Joico clarifying shampoo monthly and at the end of every month my ends go from a little coarse to silky and new looking right after I use it.
I'm an inch past TBL right now - I ran out of prenatals after I weaned my son and got slack and didn't buy more and I noticed my growth has been slower ever since, so I'm back on them and hoping for Classic by my birthday in May!

SarahLabyrinth, I put my measuring tape out in the garage where it was inconvenient. But no, not really. Possibly because I have been to these lengths before so it is not very exciting, and also because my growth is slower now than years past, so the monthly measure was discouraging, not something I looked forward to.

I guess I'm here now. So, my hair is TBL and is nearing classic length. I'm not trimming this year, so I should make it to classic+ by the end of the year. I'm planning to maintain at classic for 6-12 months so that my hem can resemble Maborosi's. ;)

As you can see the tip of my U-shaped hemline is touching classic, so I have a question, when your hemline isn't blunt like mine how much of your ends has to be classic or longer for it to "count" so to speak?

I don't think there is a general rule or anything, plus, your ends are thick enough, and softly u shaped to still give the impression that a great amount of your hair does end at the same point. I would call it classic already, if I were you :)

Hi Rhodugune.
There is no strict rule about when you can call a milestone. Theoretically, you can start calling it as soon as the first few strands are there (meaning that your hair is able to grow that length... or at least a part of it ^^). Personally, I prefer to call it when my hair comfortably "looks there" for a random observer, dry and unstreched. Of course it is more difficult to find a satisfactory scale if your hair is heavily layered or curly because it will look much shorter.
And concerning your hair, it looks like it is at classic with no doubt for me ! :eye: :)

Oh thank you for saying that and I can honestly say I owe it to LHC as my hair was a mess not knowing how to care for long or healthy hair when I join a couple of years ago and it has been a long journey to classic and I feel I couldn't have done it without both the gathered knowledge of the members here as well as their generous support when I have posted asking for advice.
So thank you all for making this community such an awesome one! :heartbeat
To prove it, this is one of my first hair length pics I took to post here and as you can see it really lacked shine and was very frizzy too, as I had split ends and white dots through out it.

It depends on thickness. I have a iii thickness and I'm nowhere near being able to wrap a braid around my head. I might even need to hit knee for that.

I'm currently at something just past 35 in/90 cm of hair (that was my early-December measurement and I trimmed a tiny bit on Jan 1). I'm about 6 inches away from my braid wrapping all the way around, and then I'd still have to make two braids because of the last 5-6 inches of layers thinning the end. For a single, even coronet braid, I'm about 1 foot or 30 cm of growth away.

I also have iii thickness hair and I can almost do it now touching classic with some of my hemline.
I don't think I have a photo from the back when I pin an English braid around my head, but here is me with milkmaidbraids, as you can see my braid is really thin and just reaching the whole way around.

I'm with you on that one. I'll have to wait for about a foot or more as well. It always seems that the styles everyone else can do, can't be done the same way cause of the thickness:shrug:

I've been dealing with and learning from the unexpected shirt-lifting, hair-diving-into-buttcrack in the bathroom issue for about a month now. Very strange to get used to!
The past few days, though, I've been accidentally buckling my hair into my belt! (Im growing out a slight V cut with layers so my hair in front is an inch or so behind the rest). Very exciting stuff, but so easy to get paranoid about damaging your ends, man....now I fully understand why the super-length LHCers stick to braids and buns. And braided buns. :p
Also, every time I go to put my hands in my front sweatshirt pocket this winter, I end up tucking most of my hair said pocket. Very annoying, but then i just end up playing with my ends inside the pocket....lol.
I need to wear updos more often...but I have large forehead....which is why i took the plunge and cut bangs last week. It was the perfect solution to soften those updos so I'm not tempted to wear my hair down so often . :)
Take a peek!

I've started getting requests from fans on my Facebook long hair page to grow my hair out to floor length. I don't know if I want it that long. My goal is knee, but what if I decide that's too much hair? I'm not sure I am quite ready for classic length, actually! I know once I get to classic I want to stay there a while and maintain while I thicken my ends and let my bangs catch up a little. I don't think I will ever want it shorter than classic again. But will I want it longer? I don't know. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

You can only grow on, and see how comfortable it still is. For me the cut-off point is classic length, beyond that it gets a little difficult to manage for me. And back when I maintained, I grew out a few inches past classic, to just be able to cut back to classic 4 months (and 2 inches) later. After a year, I was done with that and cut a larger piece off, yes, to my regret (now!). I think I might maintain between TBL & classic in future because of my experiences with this, I will then cut back once I hit classic and it will be a perfect way to maintain. But first, gotta grow back there.
You'll know once you get there. It's a very distinctive feeling. If you feel like cutting a bigger chunk off, that usually means you've reached your absolute limit. At least, that's how it manifests itself in me.
Good luck on your journey! Whatever length you choose. :flower:

Thanks. I sure think I'll enjoy classic. I'm almost of a mind not to grow to knee, but I think I will wait to make that decision. I think maybe keep classic for a while and see how it is. I want to get my hair into the best condition possible before growing longer, that's for sure. I love the look of longer hair, but can I enjoy it when it's longer? I don't know yet! ;) I'm so indecisive. Oh well, I am certain I'm not trimming this year, despite many splits. I would S&D my splits, but I can't find my scissors, haha! So, just lots of deep moisture conditioning and ignoring my ends for now.

I have 4 inches to go now until the longest bit hits classic stretched BUT that's a long way off from unstretched and with the last 5 inches or so of layering gone >< It pretty much looks solid hip unstretched now, thanks to bun curl bounce. I'm a little beyond hip now. I cut back to hip at the end of November, so that's Dec., Jan. 2 months, so 1 inch over hip now (not that I'm keeping track any ). But that's where I am. I have to crawl back to TBL first, and then to classic, so it will take me a while yet. I'm going to be happy with somewhere between TBL & classic for maintaining.

A surprise "how is it this long?" moment turned into a growing-again decision...because after my big chop i've gained 1" per month for 6 months and regained Half my chop o.0 and i like it. So here i am again, growing. ^^ I'm 2" and some stretching away from classic, and this is my very naturally air & sleep dried texture :D It lasted two days before becoming a big poof too. I had to crop the pic at classic because i'm not sure those are shorts for outside the gym xD

Officially at the spot where my thighs come together. Not quite at classic (maybe a month or two to go) but am quite pleased with this! Ps lots of beautiful heads of hair on this thread <3 Here's my crappy quality contribution (plus braid waves)

At what point can the rest of you wrap a single braid all the way around your head? I'm getting VERY close to it.
I can but I'm an uber finey!! Getting closer to classic now, my hair has started to recover from a shed I had in October/November. It was really scary as I need every hair I have! I hope to reach classic by April and then start to micro trim to thicken up the hemline whilst growing to ftl for end of 2017.

Hmm, I took a pic which hair was drying after being combed (so it's probably stretched a bit). The pic was super poor lighting so I saturated and increased contrast (dedication to the cause). Looks like I'm almost there but the pic is too fuzzy to be conclusive. Stoopid lighting.

 If you're at tailbone, you're past hip. Hip length on the LHC is considered to be the top of your hipbones on the sides. Tailbone is, depending on who you ask, either the top of the bum (for folks who measure by the sacrum) or somewhere about halfway down (for folks who go by where the actual skeletal tailbone is). The latter measurement often corresponds to where some people see their hipbones in the front, so I can see where you might get turned around.

Yes here hip is the top of your hip bones, not dress measurement hip. ;)

I don't mean to doubt you, exactly, but are you sure the longest parts there aren't already at classic? It's hard to tell with the shape of that dress and not being able to see your feet, but that's an aaaaawful long way down for just tailbone.

Wow, really? I think it must be the shape of the dress, should have worn something that made it clearer! The longest parts reach a couple of inches past BCL, which is about the ground when I'm sitting down (that's how I judge tailbone, because I find it a bit tricky to know exactly where my tailbone is). So it's about halfway down my butt, and I thought classic was just below the butt? I'm not entirely sure though, I get a bit confused by the markers around this point.
ETA: Here's another picture from the other day that might be clearer, although I had braid waves so it looks a little shorter.

Hey, I've got a genetic question to ask you.....if you have 2 people on your dad's side of the family that had hair to a little pass their butts, and I see that I've inherited hair texture from my dad's side....can I possibly grow classic or to the top of my thighs length of hair as well??? You see, I mostly too genes after my dad, and not my mom. The only of my mom that I have is her eyes, and that's it. Now, she often tells me that I've taken the thickness after her thickness but I don't agree. But every time I wash and let air dry it comes out curly, and she can't even let her hair air dry. She has to blow dry....

You get exactly half your genes from each parent ;) There are a few genes that are only transmitted on the Y chromosome and can only be passed to genetically typical men. Hair length and hair texture are two different genes, so you can never tell. Not all genes are yes/no type things either, like skin color, they can blend. Height, too. Hair color and texture definitely blend. Not sure about length. Also, genetic expression can sometimes be altered after birth. For example, your genes may say you'll be 5' tall, but malnutrition in childhood stunted your growth and so you only hit 4' 10". Follow?
I am the shortest person in my family. I have a cousin who is a foot taller than anyone in the family as far back as we have record. anomalies happen.
Also, some genes affect the expression of other genes. So even if you have a floor-length gene, your hair-color gene may inhibit it. Genetics is not so cut and dry. HTH.

Yes, I do follow you. Thank you very much for explaining that to me. But over the years it's been so funny like what my mom always tells me, "Everybody always says that I'm a spit image of my daddy," and it's very true. Because, I look a lot like him. When I was born I didn't have the same hair texture as my mom's. Which is very thick. My natural hair's texture is curly just like my dad's, and the longest my hair has ever been in my whole entire life was MBL, and the longest my mom's hair has ever been was BSL, and I know or have a good feeling that my hair can grow a lot longer than MBL.

I hope it is a good sign that you on your dad's side have some good hair and happy growing I really really hope that you get to grow your hair as long as you want it to be.
So I have been in this group since I joined LHC about 5,5 years ago as my hair has been hanging around tailbone to classic due to damage and the need to trim it off so it feels weird to finally be classic again and to leave this group that I have had so much fun being in both reading what's posted and joining in commenting and posting.
I was touching classic in my last monthly length photo but I wanted to wait as I felt I needed a little micro trim to see if I was still going to be classic in this month's photo which I was happy to see that I am.
So thank you for being so awesome and happy growing.

Awwwww, thank you for such kind words! Yes, on my dad he has a good grain of soft curly hair! Now, everybody on that side of the family doesn't have nice, soft curly hair. It's my dad, his sister, and his 1st cousin with the good grain of hair, and I feel that I took hair after. Instead of my mom's grain. Which is very thick, and it has a much tighter curler grain than my dad's hair. Plus, another thing is that I started graying really early in my life!! Like around the age of 18, and I'm now 45. I've started graying before my dad did. Which he started graying in his mid 30's.

Absolutely stunning hair on this thread! :thud:
So much beautiful hair here...
I think I need to start reading this thread. I was washing my hair tonight and wet super stretched my longest hairs reach my buttcrack. I'm not ready to call it TMI but probably by summer, unless I trim.
However, what drives me to this thread is that I've reach that magic length where I can suddenly put my hair up with small hair toys. Like 5" tl 4" fpl 2 prong forks and 5" single sticks. The compactability of my hair just went into overdrive. What I want most out of long hair are quick/fast head eating buns. This is just a stage right? The bigness comes back? When? Walk me through this...thank you in advance!
This is a very interesting point. I never thought of this, but now that you mention it, I think I had this happen to me, too. :hmm: Once the wrap became complete for LWB (around CL), the bun got more compact and tight. It's just that there was less softness to the bun and less air in the bun, and the hair-to-air ratio went drastically up. But then, extra length did add more bulk to buns later, too, sometimes one needs to torque these buns more and to add extra loop to distribute the added weight (e.g. I had to go from LWB to L-Infinity bun and Spidermom's bun / Double-loop LWB), and the updos do get larger again (they seriously work like nice pillows if I lie down during yoga, for example), they also feel more solid. Also, I found my scalp hair gets pulled back more in buns and I have trouble creating any sort of "poof" or lift or softness around the face due to extra length adding to more sleeked back look. But yes, I found the bigness does come back, even with much tighter bunning. :)

When I get to classic length, I'm looking forward to trimming a bit more than the usual dusting to shape my hair in a less tapered way, then letting it continue from there.. I'm relatively tall, so reaching growth goals sometimes take longer than I would like.. :rolling:

Hi everyone! I'm back on the forums after a long absence. And I'm happy to say that my new home is this thread now! :) I'm at 103 cm (40.5"), TBL is 99 cm on me and classic (my goal) is 112 cm. So I've got 9 cm to go (3.5"), I should be able to make it this year! I literally cannot imagine how it will feel like, having the thing that I've wanted and worked for... almost seven years. (It will have been exactly seen years at the beginning of March.)
This is my newest hair pic, taken yesterday :)
(Edit: please excuse the hugeness, me and the new Photobucket aren't good friends yet.)

It's so good to be back! I really missed the time when I was on LHC everyday :)
Ooh, we were at the same length, before I trimmed just now! So nice to see we are both back and on the same hair journey :D

Just wanted to stop by and compliment all the recent hair pics! Wow! :)
I won't be measuring again until May 1st, I should have reached/passed classic by then. I will probably trim to a solid classic and move into the next thread. But until then...

WaitingSoLong, Congrats on your next level of growth! I also believe that I've gained 2 inches of new growth myself!!! I get my hair straightened, and I have to wait until I straighten it to see how far it has stretched, and have grown. I think when I straighten it....it will reach MBL!

I'm still trudging along, at around TBL. I've needed to trim quite a bit since the winter started because my ends have been tangly, split and dry (even after clarifying and D.C.).
The bleached ends are starting to show some wear now that I've let the pink and purple fade.
Here's a length shot pic from today:

maborosi, wow. Just wow. Your hair in general is perfect for me. And I'd say you might actually be at classic already.

In January my hair hit classic when stretched... you know those 3 longest hairs that hit every milestone a month or two before everyone else. ;) I finally got a photo this month and realized that the dozen longest hairs now actually look like classic! If you look closely, you can see the tiny tip that is on the white line. When I looked at the photo today, I had to go investigate further. I pulled my tunic up to sit right at classic and looked sideways in the mirror, and sure enough, I’m not imagining things. I’m actually here. (and I’m not sharing a close up of my butt. haha)
I have also discovered that this last postpartum shed has left me with 1/2” less hair circumference. The one before that almost knocked off 1/4” and I dont know what the previous 2 did. My ends are really starting to show all that loss. So the question becomes maintain here or go with my original plan and let it grow another year and maintain there. FTL was my big grand end goal. Mainly I just wanted to say I’ve been there and then cut back to TBL/Classic. My hair has been tough this past year. Matts near the scalp simply from sleeping was the worst. I recently started treating my hair like it is low porous and though it is too early to start shouting from the rooftop, I think I might just be on the mend. If I can have my old hair back, I would totally grow to knee just so I could say I did.

On the note of how to best sleep, I have not been able to find anything locally that stays on my head. I was thinking about making a bonnet with a silk lining. Does anyone sew and have ideas or a pattern?

Rushli I make my own sleep caps out of silky pajama pants, using one leg and the elastic from the waist trimmed and sewn to make a cap. I have a really old pic somewhere...

I have since made a purple one that is FTL as this one is only TBL.
