For my leavers' ball next year (there's a long timescale on this one as I know it's doubtful I'll find someone) I would love to have my hair braided. I'm talking about a braid with lots of strands, not microbraids.

I know that such people exist, but I've yet to find anyone outside the US, and they mostly seem to operate at Renaissance fairs, which we don't have in the UK.

I know it's a bit of a long shot, but does anyone know of someone who does this in Hampshire? So far, I can only find braiding related to weaves/cornrows/microbraids for afros.

Hi Periwinkle, I'm not a braider but I am on the hampshire/wiltshire border so hello from me :)

Do you have a picture of what sort of look you are going for? Maybe we can pull it apart and work out how to create it so your regular stylist can do it for you?

Also, have you asked any wedding hair specialists if they know of a braiding specialist? They might do!

Hope this helps :)

I did some digging. On wiki answers folks debating the lack of RF in the UK mentioned the "SCAnadians" Their meets are similar to the RF with a more commercialized base..giant turkey legs were mentioned.
I have not found much info yet on locations.

There are SCA groups all over the UK, Pilateschick might have a good idea there :)

These guys are based in Lymington

One of their ladies might be able to help!
