I have not tried this with my hair because I don't know if it is long enough. How long do you think your hair would have to be to be able to do this?

I can't answer your question about the braid as I have never attempted it but I know some of the board members have :)

For doing a braid like that I believe it just needs to be long enough to french braid. That can be counted in inches. I'm sure you could do that with hair that has each strand maybe being about six inches long or so. Length for that really depends on the size of the person's head, too. Smaller heads would require less length, too. That's the bonus of french braids. The ends that would stick out on dutch braids are hidden underneath instead.

Thanks, Cherry! hehe.
My hair is long enough to french braid! : ) I am going into my sister's salon for my monthly trimming and deep conditioning. I will ask her if she can show me how to do it.
This makes me really happy. I'm getting really bored with pigtails!
