View Full Version : Who is your favorite redhead? (Henna)

You might know who's mine seeing my avatar :) Amy Adams was originally a blonde like I am and she turned red at the beginning of her acting career.
I dyed my hair red as well few times with henna and I got nice results. Now I am blonde again but I will wait for my hair to grow and I will do henna again to achieve (hopefully) the color she has in "Enchanted" movie.
Who is your favorite redhead? It can also be a family member :) Are you trying to achieve the same hair color with henna and herbs?

Nightshade! She's the one I remember the most. lol She has the shade I always would love to get. But then again I also love the red I have now.
I remember going through the one henna thread and found a couple other people who had a shade of red that I just loved, but that was soooo many months ago I don't remember who they were.
But I do admit there are A LOT of gorgeous redheads here.

Ariel or Nicole Kidman.
I used to have red hair through college and part of high school. I loved it, and the only reason I stopped was maintenance/cost and wanting to grow my hair long and enjoy my natural color.

I don't have a favorite redhead, although I tend to love the auburn - haired best of all. I do think Rose McGowan wore red very well when she tried it on for a while. Obviously, I love the redheads on LHC! lol Kate Winslet was stunning in her red haired stage, I regret she chose to return to blond. Also, the actress who played Anne in Anne of Green Gables, Megan Follows, wore the light red well (I think she is naturally a blond)

I always loved Nicole Kidman's red hair (although I think she went blonde now), especially in Moulin Rouge. Julia Roberts, too, in Pretty Woman.
However, I've seen much prettier shades of red here on LHC. Some that immediately come to mind are Nightshade, PegasusMarsters, Hypnotica, and Cherry_Sprinkle.

My favourite redhead... Tori Amos, mostly.
But my ultimate semi-subconscious influence comes from an ancient swedish (or norwegian, can't be sure any more) romance novel, I can't remember the title, but there was a woman whose hair was frequently described as dark red, long snaky curls. I read this book several times in my teens and the image just stuck with me forever it seems - of course the woman was a negative character, possibly a witch even, and died a horrible death which she apparently deserved or something (I have always had a thing with preferring negative characters). So she has been my longtime inspiration - I do have somewhat dark red hair now, but alas, snaky curls I will never have :D

Was it from the Kristin Lavransdattir books?
I have to add I also love Elizabeth Kucinich's hair. It was so nice to see a woman on the campaign trail who doesn't conform (although, she is, of course, beautiful as well!)

Was it from the Kristin Lavransdattir books?
No, it wasn't. I found the book from my other stuff and the author's name is something like Anny Wothe (the book is in old gothic script so I am not too sure with the name...), but it has no information on the original (the book was printed in 1924) so I don't even know from which language it was translated or what's the original title or anything like that. I suspect it might actually be german, although the story takes place in Norway. THis is why in my previous post I stated it was an "ancient swedish novel", haha.

Color-wise, or personality wise?
Well, for both, they'd be Nightshade and formerly, Pegs. They're two of my favorite people on the boards. :p There are others, obviously--Rach, ilovelonghair, vampodrama, hypnotica, etc. etc. that all have quite lovely shades of red, but I don't talk to a lot of them as much as say, Pegs.
In real life, it'd be my friend Jill, who has ginger-new-copper-penny hair, almost pale enough to be strawberry, but too red besides.
That said, I love red hair. If I happened to be pale skinned (obviously, I'm not ) I would totally be dying my hair some dark, venomous shade of red. :D Also, I wish to collect redheads like pokemon and hide them underneath my bed, especially the male ones. GOTTA CATCH THEM ALL.:p *not creepy at all*
