6 months of progress at LHC!

I just wanted to share the progress that my hair has made since I joined LHC 6 months ago. :)

The first picture was taken when I joined, on 10/3/07, and the second one was taken today, 4/18/08.

I was leaning backwards over the sink in the first picture without realizing it, so my body proportions look all funky. I started at 25" when I joined, and I just measured in at 28"-- taking into account 1/2" trim of scraggly ends I did a couple of weeks ago, that's pretty nice growth for me! :D

And my hair and I have all of you amazingly kind and helpful people to thank. :flowers:

brok3nwings- I love having enough of my natural hair grown out that my natural highlights can come back in. I hadn't seen them since high school!

Lizbot- I beg to differ on the "beautiful beforehand" bit... My hair was so fried back then, it is almost painful to look at the pictures from then!

tiny_teesha- I'm so glad that the improvement is noticeable to other people, not just me!

Angela_Rose- I am so grateful that I found this community. I don't know where I'd be without it-- certainly nowhere good, at least as far as my hair is concerned! :grnbiggri

paper- My hair's condition has definitely improved... I can't stop petting it sometimes!

KaeleyAnne- I'm surprised by how much it has grown-- I was one of those people who always thought that my hair "couldn't grow". Guess that showed me, huh?

Robinlyn- I certainly intend to keep it up!

jojo- With how dull my hair was before, I NEVER thought that my hair would be called "super shiny"... That makes my day! :grnbiggri

levelek- The drastic difference in color between pictures mostly is due to the poor lighting in the first picture, but the difference in shine is very much true to life.

Kazazi- Yay! I'm glad I could inspire you... Is your natural hair color similar to mine?

For those of you who asked about my routine:

I wash my hair three times a week, in the evenings. For the last couple of weeks, I've been COing... I'm pretty happy with it so far, even though my scalp hasn't quite adjusted its oil production yet. When I took that picture, my hair had been CO washed the night before-- I've been using Suave Daily Clarifying conditioner on the scalp and Suave Aloe & Water Lily conditioner on the length. Then one of my thicker conditioners afterwards, probably Trader Joe's Nourish Spa, and then aloe vera and coconut oil on the damp hair as a leave-in. Hair braided or in a high bun to sleep in. Then, in the morning, water + aloe vera spritzer, and a bit of jojoba oil on the ends.
