This is what happened in the last two weeks, my hair seems to be growing like crazy. My sleep pattern sucks, I'm under a lot of stress and my diet really sucks. I take my regular supplements. The only thing I changed is I started taking silica supplement when I can remember. I had sudden huge growth for some time when I started eating millet too and I heard millet has lots of silica. SO, could it be the sillica? I want to keep my hair growing at this rate, especially since I am gong for a trim tommorrow.

It's possible. It's more likely if you've started taking good care of your hair, that it is growing faster due to less breakage(I know you said you dye your hair, which can cause REALLY bad breakage). 1 inch per month isn't unheard of, it's fast, but it's not impossible to get. Your diet likely isn't as bad as you think it is, probably lacking in fruits/veggies/whole grains, but if you eat mostly home cooked meals, or semi homemade, it's decently healthy by US standards.

Are you active? Do you exercise? And what supplements are you taking besides silica?

I don't have breakage, didn't have it before either. I can see huge growth at my roots, so it's no mistake. I know it's not unheard of generally, but it is unheard of for me! I never had such growth before. I'm not active, I wanted to be, but my work won't allow it. I've been taking same supplements for 2 years but they never did anything for my growth. my diet hasn't improved at all. The only new thing I'm doing is taking silica. I guess it has to be it.

Well it might be just a growth sprout, regardless of what you did, take or eat. Also, 1" per month is normal growth rate for some people in here, and even those who usually get 0.5" might get 1" all of a sudden. But if it works, why break it? Keep eating your millet. :)

i'm convinced there's times in the year where you just grow more that less another times.
i had a crazy month couple months back and i'm very careful with measuring accurately when i have a flexi tape measure around but i had to trim it hard then anyway so i didn't really gain much out of it :(
