Can anyone who clips their hair near the roots to help it dry (like in the book Curly Girl) show me pictures of what it looks like with the clips in, and then after it's dry? I don't have the book, and can't figure out how to clip my hair so that it doesn't look ridiculous.

I have the Curly Girl book yet loaned it out recently to a friend, so can't look this up. Posting publically since I'm guessing a fair amount of folks might find this info useful. My mother had hair that had plenty of body so she could be nearly straight or quite curly. I recall her clipping her hair to create an incredible amount of volume in a cascade.

There's a website NATURALLYCURLY.COM

I found this product which indicates 'how' one coils and clips the hair at the root can direct and shape how the curl will fall. That's probably not what you're looking for, but it certainly indicates the concept of direction of coil and how the coil is formed influences how the curl falls.

This thread discusses the duckbill clips that I linked in an image of in the first link in this post. You might email or PM JESSTHEMESS here on LHC as she is involved in this thread on NaturallyCurly.com . According to my read of this thread, product is a part of the how-to, it would seem. I would read the entire thread for people's input regarding their experiences with this method, too.

My work filter's prevent me from seeing the clip video on Ouidad that was linked in so I can't check the effort I just made is correct.

Here's the hit of results on my search CLIP DRY CURLY HAIR on Naturallycurly.com if this interests you at all.....note a lot of hits concern volume, so that could be another search avenue.

Hope this gets you on your way!
