I'm a guy who's had short business length hair all his life, underwent a midlife crisis, quit his stuffy corporate job, and started growing out his hair. It's now down to about the bottom of my shoulder blades in the back, but it seems to grow at very different speeds in different places. The front and sides are a fair bit shorter. Not "mullet" short, fortunately.

I came here on the recommendation of my close pal Hue, hoping to get some tips. I am a complete long hair newbie.

Welcome, Slash. The world definitely needs more long haired men who are true to the values that long hair on a man brings to mind.

I'm 43 and a big fan of midlife crises. I like to think of them as growing up and/or finally understanding things that have confused you all your life and/or finally having the courage to be who you always were beneath the facade.

My most recent midlife crisis turned three months old yesterday. I birthed him unassisted three weeks before turning 43.

Hi Slash and welcome! (G&R/Velvet Revolver fan, or just like the '/' button? ;) ) Hope you have lots of fun growing your new hair, and a midlife crisis is something I'm looking forward to having, especially if it makes me want longer hair!

Hope you enjoy the forums.
