Lord of the Rings, any of the three! Even the men have long hair; a lot of "hair" movies only have women with long hair.

I don't know if this counts, but most of the disney movies I grew up with have long haired ladies. The Little Mermaid, Thumbellina, Sleeping beauty, Pocahantas. I remember being enchanted at a young age by hair.

Oooo I got it.....that new movie Enchanted!

Practical Magic is one of my favorite movies, as well. I love the hair on the girls and ladies, but I also LOOOVE that house!

Another favorite movie (well not really a movie-movie) with great hair in it is The Mists of Avalon.

And then there is The Witches of Eastwick... some great hair in there, as well.

Lord of the rings here.

Das Siechtum, in your avatar you look like YOU could be in the Lord of the Rings! :)

I'll have to agree with everyone who enjoys the hair in LOTR

I also remember admiring the hair in "Witches of Eastwick" - not that the hair was really special like in LOTR, but I thought it was so cool that Cher, Susan Sarandon, and Michelle Pfeiffer were all in it together and one's hair is very blond, one's is very black, and one's is very red. It was just such a cool contrast.

Braveheart, I love how long the Princess of Wales hair is...

And, of course, Star Wars. I don't care if Leia's hair was fake... I'll NEVER admit it! I can give up many beliefs of my childhood, like Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, and the nutritional benefits of cooked broccoli, but never the reality of Princess Leia's hair!

Ekusute. haha heard about it on here, was curious, and watched it. Was actually pretty good IMO. bought it. Subtitles are horrible but its ok..i guess -.-
I like any movie where theirs a long hair sighting in it ^-^ sometimes it distracts me actually...
I wish i could turn to the person next to me and say "whoa did you see that lady's hair in the background there" But I've learned from that one haha and the looks they give. What?! Its nice! :p

o yea Ravenwaves 88 that reminded me! I loved the hair in that movie haha. Always swaying around..then asking myself why it can't do that in real life.

I like Princess Amidala's hairstyles in Star Wars, Ep. 1. They don't really showcase her length, but I remember watching it and thinking "how will she do her hair next?" I really like this one: http://www.blueharvest.net/images/prequel/pr/pr-amidala.jpg

It's not a hair movie really, but I was watching Proof with Gwyneth Paltrow while I was trying the caramel treatment for the first time. She has long hair which was was kind of fascinating me through the movie. I think the length and look of her hair was supposed to show how she forgot herself over the years with the preoccupation of caring for her invalid father and being a possible math genius. It's not too positive a hair movie, since her long hair getting longer is maybe the trait of a crazy person-- but there is a sort of jojoba joke in the film. :)

YES!!! My sister and I would always argue which one we got to designate ourselves as in our mental fantasy world. Of course the blue centaur was always the most popular, but that's just because she had a good part of the storyline!:D

Nicole Kidman's hair in Far and Away. She plays an Irish immigrant and the curls are out of this world. I think it's pretty close to what her hair was naturally before Hollywood got a hold of it.

Another vote here for LOTR - specifically the Two Towers; Eowyn was always one of my favourite characters. I know none of the long hair was real, but the wigs were certainly very realistic.

I was most disappointed the first time I saw Viggo Mortensen out of costume; he suits long hair much better than short! Then again, I feel most long hair suits most people better than short anyway. I could be considered a little biased though. ;)

I just saw Love Happens last night, and Frances Conroy, who plays the mother of Jennifer Aniston's character, has gorgeous long hair. She was only in one scene, so I didn't get a good look, but she had a braid that was at least to her waist! No idea whether it was real, in other pictures I've seen of Frances, she has long hair but not quite that long.

My next input would be Mrs. Doubfire. The daughter had tailbone length and I'm pretty sure it was real!

I like Practical Magic too, but I was thinking that probably wasn't Sandra Bullock's real hair. The scenes where it was the longest. Especially the scene where she is running on the street towards her husband.
I was thinking the same thing about Ever After. Nice but fake.
Does anyone know?

myotislucifugus
September 20th, 2009, 07:19 AM
I think it actually is her real hair, and possibly Nicole Kidman's too. Sandra Bullock has always kept around BSL length hair, and with contracts signed almost a year in advance, she'd have had plenty of time to get to waistish, which is what she it in the movie. I've noticed her hair is pretty thick anyway, so that would account for length taken up in updos (I think just the twist one...)

Not a movie, but I've been rewatching DVDs of Dallas recently and despite all the hair changes some go through, the show seems to focus a lot on hair.

I especially LOVE Charlenes hair:

And Mary Crosby, who played Kristin. I just kept staring at her hair and missing the rest of the scenes. :p

Definitely Sophia Myles's hair in Tristan & Isolde. Her portrayal of Isolde was brilliant, and I really loved all the intricate braids and updo styles the hairstylists in the movie crafted for her. The styles went well with the clothing and time period, you really could see Sophia as an Irish princess. From what I understand she was wearing a wig, but nonetheless it was a very good looking wig. It was a gorgeous shade of blonde, wonderfully thick, curly, and fell a little past TB length on Sophia.

James Franco's hair also looked awesome in this movie, since it was only shoulder length with lots of shaggy layers I think he really did grow out his own hair for this movie.

Yeah, I really love watching mid-late 60's and all 70's movies just for the sake of nice pretty long hair. Another vote for 60's Romeo and Juliet, and Valley of Dolls!!!!

This may sound weird but I also love all 70's good or bad horror movies (Those girls with dreamy long hair out of a gothic dream), and somehow Suspiria from Dario Argento (with lots of 70's perms, but still) I like it :p

My SO likes to watch old martial arts movies (Bruce Lee etc.), and many of the women have amazing updos and the occasional long braid worn down. I can't wait to try some of them once my hair gets longer!

I also love the hair in Interview With a Vampire. There's some long haired men for a change, with Lestat and Louis. Then there's Claudia's curls, several bit characters with interesting styles, and its a great movie in general.

As for TV shows, I don't regularly watch many, but I enjoy all the Youtube tutorials inspired by Game of Thrones, and Vikings.

sidenote-Nicole kidman was on jimmy kimmel just recently and her hair (and she..:P) looked so amazing. It was really long and darker than usual. LIke a dark goldeny-strawberry blonde (close to her natural )kind of..i wonder if it was extension or a wig. I havent seen her with such long hair for a while!

Returning to the cartoons, I've watched Brave a couple of extra times just for the hair.
