Is there a way to tell the difference between dry or damaged hair? Do they have different characteristics? Is there anything that will permanently "quench" dry hair or do you just have to keep moisturizers? Thanks for any help.

Damage, to me is when the structure of the hair has been harmed irreparably. Think broken, split ends and rough cuticles. Dry is just when it loses moisture and flexibility. Imagine a cooked spaghetti noodle and a raw (dry) one. Dryness can lead to damage, so beware.

I recommend the "SMT" for moisture. :) :flower:

In my experience, one must keep moisturizing dry hair. As long as I use conditioners and oil, my hair is in good condition - soft, flexible, gleaming. The few times I've clarified without putting that stuff back in - it was a total frizzball.

Sounds like my hair is more dry than damaged. I will get some aloe today for the moisture treatment. Thanks!
