Hi Ladies and Gents.

When my sister was little, she had red hair. I'm talking red... but now as she's aged :D it's faded to a brownish red, not as intense as it was.

Welp. I have this beautiful niece with lovely red hair like my sister use to have and she is envious and trying to recapture her youthful red locks. She decided she would color her hair OTC. The first time it went great by her accounts. The second time, not so much because she had a coupon for another brand and guess what?!!!!! It's not her color! She calls me crying, can you fix this??? PAH-LEASE!!!!!!!!! It's reddish PURPLE!

Me: I can fix it. Don't touch it.

Sister: Okay.

Fast forward today... She colored it again but with a darker brown because some guy said so. *I don't even know who the guy is for the record*

I want to use Color Oops. Will it pull evenly and my main question is since I've never used it is is one box enough? Does it come with extra packets for additional Boo-Boo's?:D She's got a lot of hair and it's long. I imagine she'll need another color right afterward... I'll have to go pick it myself. I told her I don't believe she'll ever be able to get our niece's color though.

Wonder if she'd like a henna'ing?

Henna could make it very red! (Depends on how dark her natural color is) Color oops and such DO damage hair, but not as much as bleaching it out.

Here is a pic of my niece's hair. I concealed her identity for personal reasons, along with my dd.

And a pic of my sister's hair before she even colored it.

Mom said it's dark brown now. :run:

Color Oops will make her hair lighter than it was prior to dyeing....which could work to your advantage if you're going for an orange-red color :) It pulls out all the old color and leaves behind the prior bleaching damage done by the OTC box dye.

Henna would probably work very nicely on her, especially a good quality one.

a light henna would probably work. But since your sister's hair is naturally darker than her daughter's hair it's going to be more of an auburn when her real haircolour starts to grow out. Don't go full henna, do some kind of henna cassia mix.

Thank you gals! I'll ask her if she really wants to henna. I know once I do it and she starts growing out, the color will be different, regardless of what I use and since she wants red, maybe henna is the way to go. She isn't much of a change your hair color type of girl.

Oh and the niece belongs to my brother. :D
