Hello everyone,

I just changed my shampoo from Nexus Therappe to Loreal Ever Pure Moisture Shampoo. I really liked the Therappe and have been using it for a very long time and so decided it was time to change.

So far I do like the Loreal but here is my problem, when I squeeze the water out with my fingers my hair squeaks. I was wondering what cause this and is it good or bad.

Thanks for your help. :)

Well, everyone is different, but for me squeaky hair is a bad sign. It only happens to me after I have really scrubbed my hair with a really harsh shampoo. My hair always looks and feels like a hot mess after I have washed to the point where it is squeaky.

Thanks, that was my understanding that squeaky means I have stripped my hair. The confusing part is that my hair dries very soft, tangle free and mnageable so i don't understand why it "squeaks" when wet.

If your hair is nice when it dries, and stays that way as you continue to use this product, don't worry about what it sounds like when it's wet (although if you're squeezing your hair hard enough to hear a squeak, you might be squeezing it out a little hard). I always run a finger down a bit of my hair close to the scalp when I'm rinsing it after washing, and if it doesn't squeak a little bit, I know it's going to dry greasy. So squeaking isn't a bad sign for me.

I'm like Madame J - I always check for squeakiness because if I don't have any, my hair is going to dry greasy (the squeakiness is only around the root area - it doesn't extend down my hair). I've also wondered about my hair being stripped of moisture too, but that's never happened but maybe I produce enough natural oil so it's not an issue...

FWIW I can get my hair to squeak after a CO wash. I would say if your hair responds well to the shampoo to not worry too much about it.

Even when I just CO my hair gets squeaky. I don't know if it is because I have extremely hard water or not, but I don't worry about it.

Mine gets squeaky when I use SLS shampoos or shampoos without conditioning agents in them. This is usually bad news bear for me, but if your hair feels fine after this happens, then you're probably in good territory.

My mother uses that shampoo and conditioner. It's sulfate free-says it right on the front of the bottle, big letters;).
She's never complained about squeaky hair though but she's been doing heavy oilings to. Maybe that has something to do with it:hmm:. Other than that her very damaged hair is looking fantastic.
I say, IMO, that it's a good product. I was trying to translate the ingredient list on the conditioner into english to check for cones but I'm still not sure.

Thanks very much for all your replies, seems like the majority is saying if my hair doesn't have a problem then I shouldn't worry about. I will do so and keep an eye on it to make sure.

Thanks again.:)

I just use the shampoo, conditioners tend to weigh my hair down. Once in a while I use a very light spray conditioner if my hair gets too staticky.

I always rinse my hair until it squeaks. If I do this I have soft hair otherwise I have a greasy mess.
