Hi everyone
Can anyone tell me why, when hair loses its pigment, it also changes its texture? I'm 49 and my hair has been greying for about 6 or 7 years now, and in that time it's gone from shiny, straight and smooth to coarse, wiry and kinky. It's lost all its slip and weight, and no matter what conditioner or oil I use, it makes no difference.
I am colouring my hair to cover the grey, but I that's not causing the rough texture; I've tried letting the grey roots grow through for a couple of months and the hair is actually growing in like this.
It's just reached shoulder level now and I want to carry on growing, but it's looking more like a thatched roof every day.
Thanks! :)
