I was trying to figure out how to do the Vortex bun but instead came up with something else, which I think is very pretty and might be new.
Here it is with flash:

I'm calling it a Roped french crown braid, unless someone has already seen it else where?

How it's made:
Starting at the crown, make a small two strand rope braid using about 1/10 of your hair. Gather a small amount of hair next to your rope braid. Twist it, then twist it into your original rope braid making it a three strand rope braid. Move slightly below your third strand, section off a small amount, twist, then twist into your rope braid making it a 4 strand rope braid. I continued this, swirling out away from my crown in the shape of a lollipop. (Your original rope braid being the center of the lollipop).

If anyone is interested, I can make a tutorial for how to do this. With APL hair, it takes about 10 minutes and 12 bobby pins. With layers it would take more pins, and for extra stay, be sure to load it down full of pins!
Okay LHC, is this new?

I don't think my arms would last long enough to do all that, but it would be nice! ;) I've found any hair style with "French" in it seems to be beyond my skill.... French twist, French braids.... so sad.

It is a bit hard to explain. I'll make a video tutorial tomorrow and have it up and put a link on here.

You can find part two in my other videos.

I feel all hip. I made a youtube account for you guys. Do you see the sacrifices I make for everyone here?

Let me know if there are any other questions, hopefully this is pretty detailed.
