I am sorry if I seem to be clueless...I have spent time searching through the many pages of posts and I am so confused, I am new at this I just know I have to do something about my hair. Where do I begin? How long do I try something before I rule it out? The conditioner wash only I have never heard of I guess it's self explanatory, but the co then wash then co and a lot of people are talking about cutting shampoo and all the different brands, with cones no cones, with protein no protein. Las night I spent hours searching through the monistat post while intrigued and almost ready to try it, I am wondering what happens when you stop using it? I also went to the web page set up for just that but there is no definate answer to this question...Does your hair just go back to what it used to be or do you loose in excess..Again I am sorry for being the new kid on the block I just want to get in the swing of things but have no idea what direction to begin any help appreciated. I don't want togive my hair a shock starting everything at once and obviously if I do that I won't be able to tell what works and what doesnt.

You're right--there is a lot of information here. I'd look at this article:

Ursula's Standard Newbie Advice (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=39)

As for where to start, I just read whatever threads popped up and if it intrigued me, I would search the forum to know more about it or check the Articles (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php).

As for Monistat, many people had different results. In some cases, people shed a lot after stopping, but others didn't notice a change at all. It varies from person to person.

You will figure it out. I lurked around this website, trying various potions and routines, for a couple of years before I joined and then within a month I finally found the hair care routine that works for me.

Hahaha, the secret is: don't leap in and try everything at once.

Try something small... like going cone-free, or experimenting with protein, to work out how your hair feels about these things. Before you launch into major changes, you really need to find out what your hair likes, and how it will behave.

You might also like to start experimenting with oiling. That's another very useful small change you can make straight away. It does have a bit of a learning curve, though, to get it just right.
