I attempted my first ever sock bun...courtesy of Loepsie on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I13J7ArHTkM who posted a video about how to do a sock bun with no remaining hair. Mine's a little messy but I liked how it turned out. What do you think? (sorry the pics are a little on the BIG side!) :o

Very cute! I think I like it a "little messy". No one needs to know if you didn't intend for it to look that way! ;-)

Thanks! yeah I thought it looked better messy too...at least for wearing it in a casual setting!

It looks AWESOME! Is that the "new" version where you roll it?? (the old is tucked, I think)... I am straight/ fine, so I like that the sock bun gives me a BIG bun...... is that the equivalent of men putting socks in ....????? LOL! :eyebrows:

Looks fantastic!!!

I tried that version as well but it was difficult to tuck all my layers - after seeing your success, I may try it again... only after I cut more of the sock off. I have shorter hair so maybe that will do the trick!

BTW I like yours better because it's not as perfect looking. I think the "messier" look is more natural.

What I love about that method is how it just stays in with no need for pins. I sleep in that now, I put it on top of my head and it is really comfortable. You look great btw, really cute. :)

Well, yea, i do realize you might not intended it to be so :o but i just love them messies... they just look so spontaneous and playful to me. And feminine. Oh and all these adjectives go for your color & structure too :)

I love sock buns ! Although my hair is only at 16", sockbuns are a nice alternative from the usually ponytail while growing out. They are easy to make and it's a polished look for the office.

Very pretty! I tried one, but my hair's too thin...thinking of using one of my little boys' socks, lol! :)

I cannot wait 'til my hair is long enough to do the new twisted-up version-- I absolutely LOVE how it looks. My hair is thick anyway, so I bet I can make a huuuuge head-eater with this method one day!

For now, I can do the old elastic-sock-elastic method; that always looks so smooth and shiny. I just need more hair! I don't have enough ends to wrap around afterwards. There's not much to them, so I have to sort of poke them down to lie smooth and hope for the best! :)
