I would go to Sally's (assuming you are in the US) and get your color that way. It is usually cheaper, and goes farther. I have thick hair, shoulder length, and always use two boxes, or two tubes depending on the mixing ratio. Some tubes will say to mix 2 oz of color to 4 oz of developer, so then I only use one tube.

ITA with BlackfootHair. I have fine APL length hair, and one box or half a tube (depending on the amount of developer- when I was blonde I used a heck of a lot more developer than actual color) of color. Two boxes or a full tube should be good for you, but it's always best to overestimate and buy more, rather than start application and realize too late that you don't have enough to cover your whole head.
