when you do full head instead of roots only, does the color change near the ends so there is demarcation??

My ends do get darker but henna blends really well - I've never got a demarcation 'line' so to speak, and since my roots are dark anyway the whole head looks pretty much the same. So, at least for me, there's no problem with just doing all overs every month. I think it might be slightly different for someone with light/grey roots.

Depends on how on the ball I am. Sometimes only once every two months or something, or as many as every weekend for a month. Full head applications. The only reason I have a fairly clear "demarcation line" in my hair is because of the naturatint black dye on there. Otherwise it would be a smooth gradient from red roots to black ends.

Henna is a natural (RED) hair dye. It also strengthens the hair for some. :)

When I was younger I did the whole lenghts every month. The roots were hardly notoiceable, I had naturally red hair that was a tad lighter. Today I have nearly 100% white hair and I do roots every two-three weeks, and a gloss all over afterwards. My hair grows like crazy so I'm beginning to see the roots after three days or so, but I don't let it bother me too much. When I'm sure it is all white, then I'll let it grow out that way. Or maybe not :D

That sounds like a great idea. How long do you leave the first application of henna only on your root area? This seems very time consuming, but my natural color is much lighter (and some grays:()
than my henndigo hair color. It takes 2 henndigo applications to my roots to get the color I want so normally I do a root only application 2 times a month with a full head application every 8 weeks
