This was my hair last year in July:

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?albumid=44&pictureid=17540

the ends were very thin, but it's not really a good picture, because of the black top I'was wearing it's hard to see.

This was in March this year (again still very thin ends):

And this is my hair now:

Fantastic results and very pretty hair!

Have you been trimming off the ends a bit at a time as it's grown? What's your washing routine? *sorry, I'm nosy* I'm interested in trying aloe vera on my hair (once I work my way through the huge backlog of other things this site has made me want to try). *lol*

Your hair looks gorgeous in both color (hooray for henna) and texture! What is your method for using aloe vera on hair? My waves have also been hiding, and I'm looking for them, but I'd like to stick with natural products.

Wow! beautiful!

So, tell us what's your secret. :)

August 5th, 2009, 11:49 PM
First: thank you all so much for the compliments *blushes and hides*

I'll reveil the secrets :D:

I wash my hair with dilluted Natio shampoo (Australian brand), and use Organics (also aussie) condishener. To get volume I air dry my hair, and when it's nearly dry I make a bun on top of my head and leave it for some hours. Take it out, let dry more and then I wet the lenghts a little bit (only the lenghts, not near the scalp!) and put aloe vera on them and strart 'scrunching' my hair up till it's dry. That's how I got the waves and some spirals.

I have been trimming my ends every 2 weeks for the last year. I'll keep on doing that till I feel I can go for length.

The matching nail polish was coincidence LOL

My routine was quite the same, but with catnip, and another time with just the shampoo and condishener. But I swapped shampoos 2 days ago and it looks different.
I have less split ends, most of my hair has virgin ends now (not cut off)
The aloe rocks!

Very nice! I've experienced some curl loss from using henna so I'm quite interested in this aloe vera. Do you use the actualy plant and put it in the blender or something or do you buy it in a product form where it's already processed?

Would that be the Australian Natural Instincts "Organics" conditioner (in the white bottle)? I LOVE that stuff, it truly is HG for my hair :inlove: Actually, their brand of AVG is excellent too!

Your hair DOES look amazing :thud: I love henna so much. Have you tried putting in the AVG when your hair is really wet (ie first thing). Just looking at your hair, I think you'd get even more waves all the way up doing that. Not that it doesn't look AMAZING right now, but it's always fun to experiment :D

When I'm lazy I just use the stuff you can buy, but sometimes I just take a fresh leaf and open it up and squeeze the gel out to use.
Don't try to put it in a blender or something, just read this (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/blog.php?b=8867) and you'll know why :D

I'm not sure, it's a plant based condishener in a greyish bottle made from recycleble material.
What is AVG? I should know what it means LOL but I don't.

The self trimming method. I cut off uneven bits, but just a tiny bit (half a centimeter). The last time I got my partner to cut it and he did a great job. I don't go to a hair dresser, it would become too expensive!
