I want to see long wurly or curly hair with bangs, or fringe, I dont now what you call it.
And also, I would love to hear how you care for it, styling, etc.

Oh, anyone with glasses that has a bang/fringe?

Thank you! :flowers:

I've let my fringe grow out for the convenience of being able to get all my hair away from my face for house and garden work, but it used to be like this:

Wow; that looked nice. I miss it all of a sudden.

My hair's pretty straight, but I wear reading/computer glasses and had a side-swept fringe with them.

Very nice pic spidermom. I've only had bangs once and that was when I was in grade two. Me best friend at the time had just gotten bangs and I wanted them too. My mom told me that with my culry hair they would just stick straight up or out but I didn't care. Let's just say mom was right haha. So since then I've never attempted bangs...

I don't have very long hair, and I wear my bangs curly, so I'm probably not what you're looking for, but I just style them the way I wear the rest of my hair. If I'm leaving them down when I put it up (I normally just slick them back with gel these days--they ca be a hassle) I twirl them around a finger so they don't pop out oddly from my face.

I also wear glasses (though not as often as I should, probably, and bangs are fine with them...or mine, anyway.

Oh, I forgot the styling part. I used gel (either clear aloe vera gel or styling gel) to push them in the direction I wanted them to go, away from my face. If the bangs fell forward, I'd use little clips to hold them back (the clips looked like tiny alligator clips).

I used to have a fringe but I always used to straighten it, no exceptions. It had the tendency to curl straight out, giving me anything but the 1920s look I'd hoped to go for ;) I personally wouldn't recommend cutting a fringe into wurly/curly hair for that reason - I've grown them out and I personally think they look much better now that they're well past my face

I have a thread about this somewhere - I have wavy-wurly hair and long sideswept bangs.

I've been using a large Velcro-like roller (plastic, looked less abrasive to forehead skin) to style and dry. After washing, I separate the bangs out and roll them around the large curler (I got the biggest size available) and allow to dry. As long as I leave the roller on long enough, it works beautifully. No products or anything, they just make it gunky and piecey.

A trick I've found for rapidly getting them out of my eyes with no tools if the rest of my hair is in a ponytail or updo:
1: take the bangs, smooth them towards the back of your head, and twist.
2: Then take a small piece of scalp hair and lift it ever so slightly. The lifted part should be off to the side and not too far back from the hairline. Don't lift too much, just enough to get one hooked finger under.
3: Pull your bangs through the scalp hair, trying to make sure you have an inch of bangs past the scalp hair loop.

Here I am several months ago:

Blasted the bangs with a round brush and hair dryer.

And here I am just recently, embracing my curls. My bangs have grown out a bit, but you can still see them there around my temples. When I wear my hair up, they fall out in lovely ringlets if I let them :)

There's a fairly good pic of mine in my signature pic. I like them and have hardly any problem taking care of them. I don't mind if they get a bit messed up though because my whole wurly/curly thing going on is always a bit crazy anyway! AND it fits my personality. Usually I straighten them a bit with a blow dryer as I dry them and touch up with an iron every once in a while.

I cut bangs in my hair about 14 years ago. Here is a photo (the only photo I have of them):

They were behaving in this picture, but normally they were all over the place. I immediately began growing them back out. My hair was approaching waist length in this photo, and was regularly abused due to lack of hair care knowledge.

I love curly chin length bangs with curly hair. Those bangs are probably cut near shoulder length for the look that I like.

I like having them a bit longer, so I can pin them up if I feel like having it away from my face :)

I have curly hair and wearing straight across bangs (I look so weird without them!) I think it works for me and my face shape.
I'll post a picture sometime soon.

For those who have/have had bangs, did you have to "style" them? Flat iron, blow dry, etc....? I am really thinking about bangs, but I won't sit with a blow dryer or flat iron and do my hair. This is mainly because I am lazy :D

If you read the other posts, we all gave our answers ;)

I blow mine out with a round brush and hairdryer. It takes at most 5 minutes. I do it when my hair is already dry, as I'm not drying, I'm styling.

I will have to get a photo of my hair worn wurly with my bangs :) I straighten them with a mini flat iron.

Wahhh! Thank you so much. :3

I too, just roundbrush and hit my bangs with the fryer for all of a minute. I put a splorch of aussie conditioning mousse in them and they stay all day!

My sister has curly hair and used to have bangs. Being lazy, she often clipped them back, or she'd straighten them once her hair had dried. It took her a couple minutes at most, and if she couldn't be bothered she just clipped them back.

No, they just kinda looked puffy. Although at that time my hair wasn't being cared for properly. My mom didn't really know to much about managing biracial hair

Wow so many replies, I havent checked in this thread, but thank you all for the beautiful pics and helpfull advice and stylin/no styling tips! You all look absolutley stunning! :blossom:

I would love to cut a fringe, but I am scared it will look funny and curl up all over the place. And if I dont like it, it is a looong way back.
