I love the look of these sticks and bought them right away. Unfortunately, they look funny in my hair - I think it's the length. I'm pretty sure they're plastic but they are very strong and flexable like wood so I'm not 100% sure. They're long. I'd guess around 7' but I cant' find a ruler for the life of me. Here's another view of them.

Did you try a half up with the clips? Take hair from both sides of your head, and put some in each clip and then bring them to the middle. Although I suppose you tried that.... Are they just terribly small? Your sticks are pretty, but sadly I'm not in the market.
