Hello. Some of you may have read my other thread, in which I asked how to keep hair moisturized (get moisture in then use oil to keep it in). I am wondering, how do we get protein into our hair, and how do we keep it in (does oil work at keeping protein in, too?). Can you reccomend any good, organic products, or home-made treatments for adding protein?

Coconut oil in particular prevents protein loss.

Yogurt and mayonnaise are good protein treatments. Also just eggs, but be careful to rinse them out with cool water, or you'll end up with cooked egg in your hair.

I cannot tell you how many times I've forgotten to use cold water to rinse egg out of my hair -_-

I was just reading a thread about why protein treatments are important, so this is helpful information--thanks!

yep coconut oil, applied before you wash, helps with protein-loss from hair!
