I've always had really curly, dry, coarse hair that was hard to deal with. I tried all the gels, which resulted in crusty, weighted curls, all the shampoos and conditioners. The only three conditioners I'll use are White Rain (cheap-o stuff), Artec deep cond. (good stuff, but haven't used it in a while), and my leave in conditioner, alto bella (FANTASTIC!)

I've only been on the no-poo (well actually I made my own shampoo using this organic soap) for a few weeks now, along with the sleeping cap I made out of an old pair of silk PJs. I can already see a HUGE difference in my hair. It isn't dry to the touch, my curls are light and bouncy and not weighed down, hardly any frizz even when it's humid or has rained.

I'm just really excited and was wondering what could help boost my hairs health.

There's a lot of info on here about monistat for hair growth, Biotin and MSM, and many have found that scalp massages work.

HTH! I wish I had links but I don't know where I bookmarked them

Okay, pictures:

I blocked my face out because, well... lol I just did.

This first one was what I started out with. You can see all the product in my hair, and how crispy it looks. When you rubbed it between your fingers it sounded like STRAW and felt just about the same.

This was after a few weeks of either using no shampoo or using the shampoo my mom created. I can't remember the name to save my life, I think its Castells or something. Anyway, B&W pic, not so great, but you can deff. tell its in better condition by the shine. No products, that's all natural.

This was just the other day after coloring my hair. I need a better picture, as soon as I get one I'll post it. But over all, even with the added darkness, it feels better and looks better IMO. Ignore the color difference near my roots.. lol I hadn't colored it in about 2 years, so my newgrowth is somewhat different colored from the rest. OH well.

Hi and welcome! Let me direct you to the Wurly & Curly Thread (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=369&highlight=wurly+curly+thread).

Have you ever heard of scrunching out the crunch? Something I'd never heard of before LHC. Basically use your products, and when completely dry (no touching!) scrunch your hair until the crunchies are gone. You'll be left with nice, non-crunchy curls :)

Also, have you heard of Curly Girl? It's basically COing (washing with JUST conditioner), combing out in the shower when you hair is full of conditioner, using a nice leave in and air drying. All with no silicones.

There's a lot of excellent info on the boards, it's just a matter of time before you find the ones that help you :)
