Is there a more natural way to color and/or highlight your own hair so that you don't have to rely on hairstylists who could potentially destroy all of your hair in one minute of carelessness???

(it's happened to me twice now)

thanks for any advice :o marni

Being out in the sun, will highlight it naturally. Color, many people on here use henna but that is not something I have ever done but I'm sure others on here could offer insight.

If your hair is already a shade of blonde, you can use Sun-In, which is more gentle and less drying than lemon juice. But it won't work on brunette hair.

I do not know where this started but catnip, from my using it for close to 4 years, many different ways, has never lightened hair for me, nor have I ever heard of it lightening anyone's hair colour. Strange. It can stain hair a light blonde colour. There are no posts in the catnip thread on catnip lightening hair colour. Have a look at the Honey thread (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=148), starting with the first post. If you scroll down, there are pictures of honey lightening on all kinds of hair, from virgin to hennaed to dyed hair.
