Thanks everyone! i'm stoked mostly because it means my hair is getting longer.

I now need to figure out how to get it tighter.

Excellent job!!! I'm still struggling to do this on myself but I'm fortunate enough (and lazy enough) to have my daughter to do them for me. heh heh :-)

It looks great! For years I could only do French braids on others and Dutch braids on myself, because I just couldn't work out how to cross the strands the other way

My mom has done them for me too in the past. I don't think it's easy by any means though.

It totally takes me a couple of minutes when i started to figure out what i was doing with the crossing strands. It's like your finngers have to think backwards

That's really good melrose! I know, its really hard to do a French Braid on your own hair, holding your hair tight enough and making it all neat is quite a feat, its much easier to do a French Braid on someone else as you can see what you are doing and you don't have to bend your hands back.

Looks good! You did a great job for your first french braid.

I wish I could braid down further on mine though like you did yours. I have to stop as soon as I get the one piece that sticks out and I end up with a long tail. :(
