Well, my growing buddy decided he wanted his short hair back. I'm kinda sad about it but it was his hair and believe me, I enforced the two week rule. In fact, I made him wait more like 4 months just to be sure he wanted to do it! He finally asked me again and I gave my blessing and broke in the new shears.

This is my son before the cut.

He's got a lot of hair. I mean, ALOT!

He now wants a high and tight.

Here are the final pics after the buzz cut.

Wow, it's been since 8/07 since I've seen his hair this short. I have to admit, he looks pretty darn handsome, long hair or not. I guess he was ready. I will miss his long beautiful hair though. *sniff*

how sad; maybe you should have pony tailed it for pantene beautiful lengths. He looks good with a buzzed head though.

Your son is adorable! You know who he looks like, a little bit? Russel Crowe. I do like the very short hair on him, and the longer hair. The in-between style doesn't play up his features as much. (I know. Spoken like a true girl.)

But, what a cutie-pie! (I know. Spoken like a true mom.)

My very own Russell Crowe! :D I've never heard that before! I knew I should have called him Russell but he's a Nicholas. :)

Thank you for all his compliments. He's been wanting to know what y'all said. :D

I think the final cut suits him.

And I'm guessing you have the longest hair in the house now? You win!

What a role reversal! :) Many times parents don't want their sons to have long hair. Now he wants short! He is very handsome either way but I have to be honest and say I like it long better. He still looks great! I bet it was fun while you were growing together.

I really like his "high and tight" hair cut! But I am partial to buzz cuts on men! I think he looks wonderful, with long or short hair.

Too bad about the lost hair - it looked great - but he still looks good. Taking care of long hair can be a pain; I don't blame him at all.

Haha you're RIGHT!! my mom pretty much made my 19 year old brother get his hair cut yesterday and he did NOT want to go....
He's growing it out and pulled from his head it's at about 4 inches and growing fast. The hair stylist ended up shaping it up a little and leaving the length. :)

I'm trying to get him to become a member of LHC!

He looks like he's holding a furry animal in that sixth picture!

You can do what my friend's mum did when he cut his hair from waist to shoulder and keep the hair :p

I think your son suits his hair both ways; the important thing is that he's happy with it :)

He is indeed happy with it. He wanted it but he also liked it long too, he was ready to move on.

I will miss it for sure but it's his hair. I gave him more than enough time and he came to me wanting his hair short so I cut it for him. I felt it was time. He does look good either way. I do like the *high&tight* on him too, better than the in between. :D I had always cut his hair in a *high&tight* though.

florenonite~ That's me holding the fuzzy animal. :D He's got so much hair!

It is his hair though. I'd of encouraged him the whole way to waist but it was all the way to scalp instead! :)

Now I'm the only long hair here! My daughter is in the emo stage. It too shall pass. She is about APL with a ton of razored layers and side swept bangs a.k.a. one eye. *eek*

That is nice you were so supportive of allowing him to grow his hair long, and also with him wanting to cut it now. It is such a big change for his look, but it looks great both ways. You're an awesome mom. :)

As a guy I can understand your son wanting a change. I've had everything from a shaved head, to crewcuts, to medium length and now am doing the long hair thing. Your son looks good with both long hair or short hair and one day he'd make up his mind to settle on the hair length that suits him best. I personally think long hair looked better on him then short hair.

When he grew it out from short, was it really big? IME, thick hair growing from a really short cut can get like that :D
